2nd day of school check in
So far I've only had 1 class the past 2 days- it is basically meant to help kids get acquainted and familiar with 1 teacher that they feel comfortable with, get to know you activities. So far I have 18 great kids and 2 pains. I'll keep working on the pains. Tomorrow is the first full day of school and I'm ready to go. Unit plan and lesson plans will be written tonight.

Mike: How many classes will you have in total and will you be teaching english in all of them? I know you are teaching middle school -- what grades? 7th and 8th graders?
This may be dating myself, but do you have a home room class too?
Have you settled on a cool nickname you want the kids to call you?

In my school, they made us kneel on the floor if we caused trouble. It hurts after a while, and puts the crazies in place. :)
