What are some good California weekend getaway cities?
You know my boyfriend and I like to travel, but I'm itching for a weekend getaway to a place we've never been. I have 2 cities in mind, but was wondering if there are places/cities that we have yet to check out that are worth visiting. Here's our list of places we've hit.

What about the vicinity of SD like San Bernardo, San Marcos, Clairemont, Miramesa, etc.? Anything noteworthy there?

What else are we missing?
Santa Barbara

- Want to do the Santa Barbara Bowl

- What is there to do that would make a good day trip in Pasadena?

What else is there to do there in Palm Springs that I'm missing?
Any day trips that I'm missing? This seems like rocket science... and it is not... I'm just stumped for ideas. My AAA travel book isn't much help. Boo

Have you gone to Yosemite National Park? That might be nice. :-)
How about the Getty Museum in Westwood or the Getty Villa on PCH in Santa Monica? If y'all are interested in architecture, Hollyhock is a Frank Lloyd Wright house in the Silverlake area and there's the Schendlier house on Kings Road in West Hollywood. Have y'all been to Joshua Tree? It would be nice once it gets a little cooler.
@ Aek: Yosemite is at the top of our list! We need a 3 day weekend to do that- this one would have been perfect.
@ Bruce: The Getty would be a nice trip- I've never been to the Getty Villa- he has. I have been to Westwood and think it is beautiful- it'd be really nice as the sun were setting. The FLW house sounds like something I need to check out too. Joshua Tree is a place I've mentioned to him... maybe we should go camping!
