It was a depression

One of the Mikes recently posted something on the internet I ran across. I was doing some facebooking one day, checked out his page, and ran onto his personal website. He posted about how there were several people he has hurt over the past several years and others that he has pushed away because he was depressed and didn't know how to handle it. He talked about his struggle and how he has a 42'' waist now, how he feels bad for himself, how he is on meds, and how all of his friends should come back to him. It was quite pitiful really. It was nice to read in that it did seem to explain things, but that friendship is gone.

Hard to say what to do, but I think you're making the right choice here. Maybe he can't make it right with you, but he can always make it right with new friends. Who knows? Maybe after some time you'll be in communication with him again. Just let things unfold naturally.

Mike: You gave him a chance to mend things already and it didn't take. Now at least you have an explanation but posting it on his personal website really does nothing for the people he's harmed. If he wants to make amends to the people that he's hurt, including you, he's going to have to reach out to them in a personal way instead of just wishing they would come back to him.

That's unfortunate. Depression makes people do strange things. While I don't think you necessarily should become friends with him again, a bit of sympathy wouldn't be unwarranted.

I don't think I am giving him a second chance- I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to contact him, but it was nice to see that. I was hurt badly and I don't care to go back to him.
