This has been a mad week.
I am on a state committee, and we spent the entire week learning our job over the next few months. It has been an absolutely insane week of training, and often the training was as clear as mud. The work is going to be daunting when it starts next week and will require 100s of hours of my free time to complete. I can't say much more. We were basically sworn to secrecy.
The one thing that has kept me sane are the Wine Women as I call them, a bunch of women in my group, from the OC, who all know each other. They are hilarious. All hispanic women, or women that speak Spanish. They are so cute. One of them, O, has talked about her need for "vino" nonstop. After day 1 we went to the bar, did our homework, drank 3 glasses of wine, and enjoyed $13 wine. We talked about work, what they do, and it was a blast.
We met the next day and had a great bond.
Last night I suggested we go to a wine bar I like. We met at the pool first for margaritas and tequila shots, then we headed out via uber. Amazing food and amazing wine. We had a blast. Talked about anything and everything, especially travel. Told them about my partner, and my godmoms as they have called themselves were ready to plan my wedding They all had a piece they wanted to do, and all I had to do was call my partner and propose. SUCH FUN. Oh, and the uber car was all decked out in lights. It was a blast. We had so much fun. Laughing and joking. Hugging and taking selfies.
I can't wait until we come back together to drink. I'm bringing bottles of wine next time and we will have a party in my room. Tequila will probably be necessary too.

Almost there...
Need a weekend badly. Badly.
Work is kicking my arse. Teaching an extra class - that's not the problem. AC is out in my room again. Moving rooms period to period and lugging my crap takes a toll emotionally and physically. lol. 4 days and I'm tired of it. I was telling one teacher I chose not to teach Monday and gave the kids bookwork, and that translated into 4 days of it because it is easy when I'm moving from room to room each period.
Getting back into the gym swing. Went Monday, Tuesday, Thursday morning and afternoon. Proud of myself.
I walked an average of 15,000 steps a day in NYC - my steps now are like 6-7,000.
Need a massage badly. Have an appointment next week with My Chola as I call her. Hands hurt; lower right back has a knot, as always; have a knot in the back of my left leg; and of course my feet.
We got another cat. Like him already.
Parents going through a nightmare kitchen redo.
My mom has to have her hip re-replaced due to doctor error.

3s the charm
Finally met up with our friends J and B. We haven't seen them since November or so. Lots got in the way. The first time B had been sick, the second time something else happened, and the 3rd time was 2 weekends ago when Mike was in bed sick all weekend with some stomach virus. It almost became a 3rd time we had to reschedule when J's grandma died Thursday. She was 101.
We chatted last weekend and bought groupon tickets to an Angels game.
Met up at their house about 4pm yesterday. Showed off Mike's new car. Mike got a new Chevy Volt. It is the coolest thing. Seriously. We drove to the game in it, and parked at the brewery right by the stadium. We had a couple beers, then meandered to the stadiuM. I sat next to B about half of the game, talking about work and other random stuff. Then we got up halfway through the game and found new seats where we could better see the fireworks. J and I sat spotting cute guys and determining whether they were straight or not. Angels won. Fireworks after the show were awesome. As we were walking back to the car we found a baby kitten that we were trying to rescue - he was nowhere near his mommy and seemed all alone. Scared little thing, though. So we were off to Yogurtland for some treats.
Good night overall... glad we got to get together
Other happenings- we put one of our cats down this week. He had kidney disease, which basically there's no recovery from unless she was going to have constant injections and something equivalent to dialysis.
Had breakfast with my dad this week now that I work nights.
Hung out with E from my old school, and her husband, Mike. We went to a brewery on Friday night, which was really good. They had a food truck too,w which was so-so. Asian fusion.
Our patio is done. We have had a patio cover put in that is about a quarter the size of the house - it is half enclosed and half open. Been buying stuff for it. We are out on the patio right now enjoying it.

Updating on me
Been super busy, but I'm still around.
Work has been kicking my behind. Due dates, projects to grade, and planning have been crazy. Principal is making an "unannounced" observation in my classroom tomorrow since I've been evading him for the better part of 2 weeks. NERVOUS AS HELL, especially since it is not a great lesson I have planned with plenty of room for failure. LOL. It boils down to he doesn't want to watch the good lesson, and so I have to half ass with something for tomorrow. I have tried to make it interactive, and it could be good, and he could be happy, but that means my kids have to be on the ball 100%, and I hope they will be.
Mike's parents are in town through the end of the month, which is cool. Mike is probably taking them to Vegas manana. I wish I were going along to skip this observation.
My aunt in Indiana wrote me an email the other day. It shook me. I read it in the middle of class - and the only reason I had my phone out was I was texting my Sister trying to lesson plan with her while my kids were typing their assignment in the computer lab. Here's what it said:
Obviously the answer is that I am. I never expected her to be so bold and ask. I have never spoken of girls. I am sure my other family on facebook in Indiana has seen my relationship status, so they probably told her. I have yet to write back, but will.
I need a massage. I got one the other day, at it was amazing. My massage therapist is this chola lady who has tattoos, and man, she gets in and works every muscle. I had such a knot in between my shoulder blade that she worked out, and she said it was the biggest one she ever found in me. It hurt a lot after, but felt good. My legs were also aching, and she worked on those, but I feel like I could use another go around with those.
Hung out at a country bar with my cousin about a week ago. That was fun times.
Wanting to get to Dallas and OKC in the really near future, but not sure when that will happen. Air fare has been ridonkulous as of late.
Need to plan our Mexico Spring Break trip.
Caught up with Gonzo twice over the past month at Starbucks and at breakfast one Saturday morning.
Met Darla Friday night too, but Mike didn't want to go since he was tired after getting home about 3am from his trip.
Well, that's it from the front lines here... how's everyone else doing?

We been writing each other for many years! I want to ask you a question, please don't get mad at me for asking this! If its not the case, I'm hoping I didn't hurt your feeling. Are you Gay? If your not, I'm sorry for asking. Please for give me.
But, if you are, I want tell any one and I'm OK with it! I had a good friend who was, he was my boss when I worked at the Garden Center! We had some great talks! I do miss him, if he was still around, we would still be friends today! He tried to cover it up and the day he was going to tell me, and couldn't! I told him, what he wanted to tell me! He was surprised, but was happy I knew, because we were friends and it was OK with me!
I just want us to be open with each other! So, your open to talk to me, if you wish too!

The Big NYC
I'm home, guys!
Oh how I miss the big city when I'm not there, and how it feels so weird to know that the city is still moving even though you aren't there. We hit the city in full force.
Tuesday -
Arrived about 5:30, checked in, then hit the city in full force. Was emailing DaninOKC back and forth to try to meet, but he had plans, and we were hungry, so I found a turkish restaurant. The people smelled Mike thought, so we went to a Thai place. Went back to the hotel and watered ourselves at the hotel.
Wednesday -
Mike had breakfast planned with his friend Kat, and I made plans to meet with DaninOKC. Got on the train and headed down to Times Square, then over to Penn Station area. Finally, the 2 of us met on a street corner and made our way to Penn Station so I could nibble on food. We talked a lot about work stuff, heard about each other's adventures, and more. Wished I could have introduced him to Mike so he could give a critique ;-). Glad we got to meet up again after all these years. Here's to meeting again, but not with so many years in between!
Found the BF back at a cafe where his friend had just left. We walked to Central Park and up on the upper east side. Spent the afternoon in Times Square getting tickets for broadway. We saw WarHoarse at Linkin Center. Had a lot of fun beforehand doing some shopping uptown at Century 21 stocking up on ties, before heading to dinner at a Tapas/wine bar. We drank a bottle, then headed to Linkin Center to the expensive restaurant there for a drink - we liked the bar atmosphere as it wasn't pretentious and it was classy. WarHoarse was amazing. The plot was very thin and weak in my opinion, but what redeemed it was the mechanics and choreography with the horses. Back to the hotel for another drink, a toffee Christmasy thingy.
Thursday -
Up and off to SOHO. HAD SOOO MUCH FUN!!! Loved SOHO. Had breakfast at a french bistro. My new favorite store there is Fish and Eddys. Shopped 5th Avenue and went to Uniqlo where I bought a scarf, then a couple of universities for postcards etc. for my classroom. Headed uptown to the hotel and to get prepped to meet up with friends of Mike's who he was reconnecting with. Met them at our hotel, went to Therapy, the gay bar, for a therapy session where we got to know each other better. Walked down to a Thai place in Hell's Kitchen. Back to the hotel for a drink.
Friday -

Up and ventured to Brooklyn, but turned around when we didn't like the area the train dropped us off in. Went back to Manhattan, found a Russian restaurant, and enjoyed some of Mike's favorite dishes. We walked up to Linkin Center area again for Century 21 and a few other areas. Met up with his friend Kat again for dinner with her 2 friends Mike had met at Thanksgiving. We went to Ching's, the drag queen, show place, for so-so food, and the big bowls of drinks that you all share. We downed 3 between the 5 of us. First time ever for me doing one of those big punch bowl drink things. After, I was insistent we go to a country bar I found on Yelp. Her 2 friends were 2 latino guys who didn't like country, but they played along. We sat, talked, and swayed/danced to a little bit of the stuff.
Hate the song, but it was so funny watching a group of gay guys dance to this shaking their asses. The jukebox never played our song, "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?"
Found another bar down the street that was cash only, and we ended up being the center of attention as we danced to random stuff. Went to a diner down the street for breakfast/a smoothie.
Saturday -
Off to Jersey, got a car, then went to his parent's. Grabbed his mom and went to a polish deli. Got grub and then went back to their house. Went to the mall, then his favorite pizza place. Met up with his Friend LaR. DELICIOUS PIZZA. Went to a liquor store and then hotel. We all drank and ate cake in the hotel room. We settled into bed and at 1:50am the fire alarm starting ringing telling us to evacuate. We didn't see any smoke outside the window, so we got up, got dressed, packed up all of our electronic toys, and walked down the stairs. We get to the bottom when the alarm stops and we see a flood of people making their way out. We go back in and get undressed. LaR called us to say there were a few guys smoking MJ in a room down from us that sat off the alarm. Mike was livid at the hotel.
Sunday -
Up at 10, off to a Joisey breakfast, the pork roll thing, then off to the shore to check out what remained after Hurricane Sandy. In some areas, not a lot. We went back to Mike's house and his mom made perogis, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, and more for LaR and I. YUM. Went to Lord & Taylor at the mall after. LOVE THAT STORE. Got a $225 blazer for $39. I'm gonna be styling at work.
Monday morning-
Up at 4:30, at the airport by 5, 6:00am flight riding first class, baby.
Merry Christmas, guys!!!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that
Blogging at midnight when I should be sleeping... a little bit of everything on my mind.
Are these not the coolest shoes? I want a pair.
Spent the weekend going from the mountains to the desert. Chaperoned an all night field trip, then Sissy and I went to breakfast at Dennys. Oh, we did dance Gangham Style. Yum red velvet pancake pops. I was up like 26 hours. Wow.
Went to the mountains for 30 degree temps and a delicious dinner when I woke up. Found some real estate. Back home for the night where we went to Palm Springs the next day. Met some friends of Mike's and spent the night there.
Productive weekend. I washed my BF's car, vacuumed both of ours, cleaned the dash and all the important stuff. Picked up around the house, did massive amounts of laundry.
Sweater weather is here. YAY!
My new favorite song. Partial to Joan Baez, but the guitarist has the sexiest voice of all the Zac Brown Band members.
This song was in my head all week, and thanks to Joey for helping me figure it out.
Enough hickness. Here's another diddy I'm digging. Ok... it is country... but it is sexy.
This was in my head also all week, and it became a catch line at school.
Speaking of work we don't need to talk about that. Drama. Principal is leaving. Mixed feelings on that as much as I despise her some days. She isn't all bad, but she's not all good. Whoever you get can be worse.
Sister apparently wrote a thesis and had to defend it. Of course the world revolved around her and everything had to come to a standstill for that. Did you feel it? I dunno... my sister didn't seem like an expert on whatever it was she was presenting.
Oh, and speaking of my sister, sister story time. I have free Vegas nights and told my parents I'd take them as a part of their Christmas gift. I got 4 tickets to the show they really want to see.
So I haven't told them the part about the show, but I did say that I got 2 hotel rooms for the 4 of us, and we would be staying at a nice hotel. I have it all planned as far as shopping, restaurants, etc. We were in Red Robin eating, and my sister said we weren't going. She couldn't go. She had to stay home to care for the house. She had to care for the dog. She had to work. She couldn't work in a hotel room. There's tons of drunks in Vegas. There's smoking. And I wanted to say something and say she had to go because I have 4 tickets, but alas, I didn't. She broke out crying in the middle of the restaurant. UM. She's 23? 22? I forget, but WTF?
So that's what's going on in my neck of the woods as Al Roker would say. He annoys me BTW.

Out on the town
Been out partying like a rockstar recently... here's a quick rundown
Villa Blanca
The place to be seen in Beverly Hills, Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant. Awful food, lots of fried food, but it was fun socializing with Mike's coworkers and the people of the company he was wining and dining the other day.
Sprinkles Cupcakes
Went the night of Villa Blanca and drove up last Monday night with my coworker, Sissy, to get some.
Dinner with The Guy and his BF
Met The Guy and Rob for dinner last Friday night. Great time. We took them to our favorite steakhouse, and they were impressed as they'd driven by it, but had no idea how good the food was. 5 glasses of wine, beef sparerib, and tons of appetizers. Great time chatting about Mac products, Samsung, work, and more.
Conference for the program I teach
Highlight of my week because I LOVE these conferences - the information presented is always soooo relevant and inspiring - and I don't say that often. Sissy and I got to hang and flirt. We had the others jealous of us.
Friday Night
Mike and I went out to the fish house we like for dinner, chatted with a hilarious Asian bartender, who it turns out lives right by my parents. She was a blast. Went to 2 new microbreweries and had some good beer. A little buzzed after, which made shopping in Marshalls and Target mucho fun.
Tonight
Dinner with J&B at the steakhouse, microbrewery tour part 2 tonight.

Drinking Weekends
Friday before last was sister's birthday, so I went to Fridays with the family to celebrate. Sis was in a bitchy mood and I wasn't feeling it. I left about 8 and went back to join Mike.
Saturday AM
Erased my Samsung Galaxy SIII and were off to Frys to return the phone. Easy return. They were even able to reverse the upgrade. Found out they had a 64gb white iPhone 5, and it was the 2nd to last one. It was mine. Long time since computers were slow, but the girl was cool and flirty. Back in the car I texted The Guy, and then chatted with him about how great my new toy was. He didn't have one, and won't be for a long time. WOO. We drove down to Long Beach and shopped BR. Stopped at Maggianos where we were the hit in the bar with my new iPhone, a cool bartender who was jealous of my phone, and 2 drunk girls. 1 gin and tonic, 1 glass of chardonnay, 2 shots of tequila with cinnamon and orange that drunk girl raved about. Tequila with cinnamon is not the biz, but hey, fun pics of us and them. Slept on the car ride home. Slept more when we got home.
Sunday
Out and about, went to Petco and other stores... didn't find alot. Did some lesson planning and made out and fooled around in bed.
Monday-Friday
Work week wasn't bad, but benchmark testing and people drama made work tiring.
Visited the parents on Wednesday and Thursday.
Friday I went to a retirement party with my mom at a buffet. Left about 9. Did get caught up with The Guy and my best friend on the drive to the buffet.
Saturday
Today we went to the post office to get a package, dry cleaners, Mike made waffles. Went to PS away from Carmageddon for BR and lunch. Triple tequila shot margarita and lots of drunk photos, and one made its way online, courtesy of my BF. Drove back for another BR and lots of touching on the way back. Back here and one of us crashed on the couch. I'm watching Big Bang Theory

Tired of everyone
Wednesday *********4TH OF JULY*********
I spent the early morning with the family where my parents were just hanging out. My dad and mom were talking adn doing random stuff. I get over to Mike's about 11. We hang out watching TV, then go shopping. We go to the outlet mall and a couple other places. We stop at the supermarket for groceries, as well as Target. We get lots of fake meat. We even get charcoal. This was the first time Mike BBQ'd food. Delish. He BBQd veggies and veggie burgers. We then took off to go see fireworks at the baseball stadium. We had to wait a while until the game ended, so we waited in the hood where some crazies talked about pot smoking and blew up fireworks that nearly sat trees and other things on fire. The fireworks were pretty good.
THURSDAY
Spent the day with family, left after a few hours because I was tired of them, headed back to Mike's. Spent the day with him enjoying each other.
FRIDAY
Spent the early part of the day with Mike playing around on our computers. Went to physical therapy, or tried, but was stuck on the freeway and went 4 miles in 45 minutes due to construction. FAIL. Went home instead where my mom was bitching about wanting to get a cedar chest out of storage and her horrible decorating/house ideas. I got tired of her quickly and left. I went to Mike's where he was busy cleaning because J&B were on their way. Did a beer and tortilla chip run, then B showed up shortly after. We chatted about work, our vacation, and Mike's house. J showed up when his coworker who lived down the street from Mike dropped him off. We had a drink and ate tortilla chips, looked at the backyard, and chatted about decorating etc. We headed to the baseball game about 6:15. We grabbed hot dogs and beer, then sat waiting for the game. B and I sat next to each other talking about work, and it became too much for Mike, so we moved, and let J and him sit next to each other. We talked about discipline and he told me how when the kids act up he tells them "they're not going to college," it's cute, and I'm thinking of doing it. The game was good. The score was 4-2 when we left in the 9th because J was tired and had to work Saturday. We drove back, then made small talk and said goodbye.
SATURDAY
We woke up and fooled around. I rushed home to get my suitcase and stuff for my conference for work. My parents were gone and Mike had already insisted I just spend 20 minutes there, but since they were gone, I spent less, and was back by 1. We went to LA to the Discovery Science Center for the Cleopatra exhibit. We went down to the OC after for Nordstrom Racks and Banana Republic. Ended up at a watch store where Mike finally got his white watch. We made it back late in the evening.
SUNDAY
We were up at 7am and out of the house by 7:35. We stopped at McD's for breakfast. I was the first to arrive out of all my coworkers. Enjoyed meeting up with all of them at the airport and heading to NorCal for our conference.

International Traveler
The past 3 weeks have been amazing!!! In the course of nearly a month my dream to Spain unfolded. I was looking at cruises a few months back, found a cheap one, and encouraged my bf we should do it. We looked at other cruises and didn't really find a good one. We talked about it, and decided that we would do it. I would pay for the cruise, which was about $50 a night for a 7 night cruise, and he would cover airfare. The planning began, and I mapped out all the cities, landmarks, and restaurants we needed to eat at.
Took an 8 day cruise on one of the world's largest cruise ships - it was the largest at induction in 2001. Info about the ship/people:
So here's what we did-
Left for Spain on a red eye out of LA. Landed in NY in the morning and spent Memorial Day in NYC doing what New Yorkers do - going to GMA, Coney Island, Little Italy, and then headed to the airport for a red eye to Madrid.
Woke up in the morning in Madrid where we spent some time debating how to use the Metro to get to the hotel. The maps weren't as easy as provided, but thanks to some experimenting we sound discovered we were on the right track. What a beautiful Metro.
Got to the hotel and saw how voyeuristic the room was - the shower was in the middle of the room - that was hot to watch btw.
So here's the highlights and important things from Spain in the order we did them:
- Parque Retiro
- bus tour
- Fountain de Cibeles
- Gran Via
- Museo del Prado (So cool to see artwork I'd studied)
- Plaza Mayor
- Palacio Real
- Walked through the gay area/party area, Chueca
- Salamanca, the ritzy area
- Mall in Salamanca
(Photo of Parque Retiro)
Some tidbits about Madrid
- Cheap wine was good
- People were somewhat unfriendly
- Couldn't get used to flagging down a waiter, flagging to get our bill, almost felt as if we were intruding
- Food was not good - everything was served on bread, icky calamari everywhere with no taste
- Ate thai when we couldn't take more bad tapas - not what I'd pictured
- Madrid people looked down on my Spanish until I got differences in basic words (bano vs. aseo) etc. - we found a charming bar we went to 2 nights with friendly people, which was nice.
Went to a coastal city where we saw the following:
- Roman ruins (INCREDIBLE!)
- Really old churches
- Good food
- fun outdoor cafes
- Picasso's boyhood home
Tidbits about coastal city:
- Friendly people
- Good food
(Picasso's boyhood home)
- British like their sun
- Speedos on skinny guys are sexy
- The service on the ship was atrocious due to a language barrier between the staff and people on it
- The cruise catered to an English crowd at times too much, and to Spanish too much at times
- Awful cruise director who seemed like a game show host
- Good wait staff only in the dining room
- Some not so friendly bartenders - but nicer the longer they had been around on the ship
- Room steward and all service staff had a language barrier understanding basic things we were asking whether we asked in English or Spanish
- Dumb cruise ship policies especially towards gratuities
- Friendly Americans
- We were placed twice at a Spanish speaking dinner table, and I felt soooooo bad and offered to switch tables many times for my bf so he could have interaction because I knew he wanted it, and so many days he had only spoke to me.
- A big promenade instead of a nice walkway for seating was interesting, but took away from the intimacy, but on such a large ship it was necessary it seemed
The stops:
- Loved Valencia - very old, good food, nice people
- Rome - soooooo many people everywhere, which detracted from it making it feel very touristy and blah (so many people like NYC x3)
1 more day when it was not so busy would have been nice
Saw Trevi fountain, Vatican (so different than we expected), Coliseum
- Florence - charming city! Friendly people! Great shopping - watches and suits! Loved Il Dumo, the big river, the trees, the city smelled wonderful
- Corsica - unfriendly French, expensive prices (4 euros for a soda), we had a definite language barrier, and I felt helpless, as did Mike. We couldn't even get one dude to give us a menu in a restaurant... obviously we weren't that hungry. Saw Napoleon's boyhood home, found a French cafe on the water with friendly Spansih and we dined on 2 bottles of wine and tapas
Back to Spain for a day, then off to Switzerland for the night, Germany, and back to LA!
It was honestly the trip of a lifetime as cliche as that sounds - and I love my boyfriend is so agreeable after a little convincing.

I --> We
Monday Night
Spent the evening with Mike, we made dinner together. Was at school together very late due to photocopier issues.
Tuesday
Family time at TGI FRidays with my parents.
Wednesday
Spent the night at Mike's
Thursday
At work early and late due to photocopier issues and a parent meeting
Friday
We decided to go to Daynuh Point for the night, packed a bag, and drove out. Told about all of the drama at work, our ice cream get together after work in the pouring rain with admin, which was nice. Went to my bf's favorite restaurant there and enjoyed drinks on the water. Soooo romantic. Awkward gay couple next to us meeting the parents- we didn't get it.
Saturday
Up around 9:30, head to McDonalds for breakfast where I get an iced coffee as opposed to soda- much to my boyfriend's approval- but he seemed to retract his statement after I found this. Go to the Spectrum, South Coast Plaza, Maggeanos, and I-kia for wine racks. Texted our friends J and B, as well as The Guy, and his boyfriend about getting together. All were busy. We go to the Gardens for Cheezecake Factoree, but it was super crowded, so we go to the fish restaurant and eat. Go to grocery store after for lots of veggies and cookies, then to another for wine. Good times. We also get my liquor. Go home to have my liquor and watch something on Netflix. Camp on the couch since the sheets weren't done.
Sunday
Up around 8, watch a few morbid shows about sinking ships and airliners. Then we go out in the yard. He mows and I weed whack. Weed whack the backyard since he finally gave me the chance. It looked sooooooooooo good. It was tiring. Then we dig holes in the yard since we finally decided how we will fix up the backyard. Home Depot for plants, Wallyworld for plants, then home to plant. Yardwork to 90s country- the good stuff- Mike put it on- and he said he actually liked it. WOOHOO!!! I noticed in a couple of the conversations the "I" statements became "we" statements, like "we won't be in this house then," hinting at our long future together. I make an eggplant concoction he found for dinner, which was tasty, and we eat/talk. Bed about 11.
Love me some Wynonna!
Monday
Off to work, then to my layoff hearing. 9 hours of boring. Head home to my BF and tell him about my day. Off to Awlive Garden for a politically charged discussion that had us at each other's necks, but we came to an understanding. We get home and watch 2 TV shows while I'm laying on his legs on the couch. I go to bed about 10 as he had to stay up for work.

He met my closest cousin
WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Headed to Mike's after work. We went out and about in the city as I recall. We went shopping at F&E I think for quesadilla makings.
THURSDAY NIGHT
Ordered a Domino's Pizza about 4p.m. We slept on the couch from about 5pm to 7:30 after Ellen was over. I cleaned the bathroom while he slept. We fell back asleep from 7:30-9, then watched whatever was on, or the DVR.
FRIDAY NIGHT
I had a frustrating day at work since the A/C was out in my room, I had to cover another teacher on my prep, I had a bunch of work I didn't get done. I left work about 4. I leave work and head to Ralphs for tortillas, cucumbers, tequila, y más. The house is clean when I arrive back and Mike is showering. I spend a few minutes trying good margarita recipes and whipping up Ina's, Alton's, and Robert's from Food Network. My cousin showed up around 7:15- a little late. I introduced her to Mike, and we all seemed to hit it off. We talked about my dry (from alcohol) family, work, family, and Catholic school. My cousin leaves about midnight. I fall asleep almost instantly on the couch as I am exhausted.
SATURDAY
Mike and I wake up about 9, then he fixes breakfast, we browse around on the internet. We go to Fry's about 2, then down to Whittier, then off to Fry's to return the iPod watch he bought. We find a sushi boat restaurant/conveyor belt in Rollind Hites. We were in a restaurant with only Asians- we thought it was amusing. There were also only 3 American cars in the parking lot we saw. Stopped at Target and got vegan sausage. get home about 7 or 8. We watch some super boring movie and I fall asleep on the couch. We head to bed about midnight.
Forgot to mention Mike, my anti-country boyfriend has fallen in love with this woman, and she serenaded us throughout SoCal...
SUNDAY
Up around 9, watched the news, played with the kitties, showered, Mike made the sausage that was eh. About 2 I needed ice cream- he didn't understand - I craved it- I needed it - he joked about me not getting any yesterday because it was too cold. We go over about 3 cities and stop over near The Guy's for pizza and a delicious ice cream shake. I was satisfied. We headed home. I headed home about 5.

Ringing in the New Year
THURSDAY 12/29
- Mike changed our flight so many times that he finally got one early Friday morning, but it meant we needed to stay the night at LAX to be able to make it on time. Drive there about 5-6pm, rock out to MYFM 104.3, although they don't have the most LA traffic reports, which Mike was wanting. He just wanted traffic reports, but I told him KOST does them more often... lol.
- Get to LAX and we go to the LAX restaurant, which we'd both wanted to do for a long time. I figured it was a great time to do it when it was dark and you could see all the airport's lights. It got foggy and socked in fast.
- Beautiful view at restaurant, but very overpriced, we had calamari and a glass of wine a piece for nearly $40
- That meant afterwards we run to a place clients had taken him to on a business luncheon in that area. The food was not good for dinner as there was a totally different crowd and we had our food within 5 minutes of ordering, which says something about the quality.
- We go to the mall in Colver City to the Target and see how weird it is as Mike termed it
- Go to hotel about 9:30. Check in es loco. People everywhere, elevator not working, having a hard time getting room keys to work. We get in hotel, chat it up with a couple from back east and their kid, then they end up having a room across from it. We try to open our room, and they did too, but they keys didn't work not once, but twice. Mike had to run down both times for that. Oh, and then the room smelled like smoke. We weren't happy.
FRIDAY 12/30
- Up at 4:00a.m. to go to the airport. Dress, drop car off, and shuttle to airport.
- Get in with relatively little problem, but I did get the full putdown at the airport, which as usual, Mike was long done getting through security because I had to wait to be screened
- Enjoyable flight to San Fran
- Arrive in San Fran and am checking Facebook. I see a gal, Ally, I went to middle and high school with said she was at the airport too. I told Mike of the coincidence. She was the sweetest thing. We exchanged a few Facebook comments back and forth and discovered she was in the same terminal. I tell her we'd be right to where she was having breakfast, walk up behind her, say hello, and then chat. She tells me how she was going back to where we live, how she was coming from Idaho, how she was so happy for me, could hardly get a word in, but did introduce her to Mike and told her about what I'm doing these days.
- Bad Wendy's breakfast after
- Flight to Puerto Vallarta was nice. Listened to music most of the way.
- Arrive in PVR and go through customs, which was a breeze, but again selected for additional security screening through their random press a button and if it lights up, you have to have your bag searched.
- Go to ATM to get pesos, which was daunting. We were confused like $5,000 pesos seemed like so much. We got our bearings and flirted with the waitress at the hotel bar who made us 2 margaritas deliciosas. She told us to take the bus and not the taxi to the hotel since it wasn't too far. $.65 beat $8.00
- Get to hotel and have an hour checkin - it was a time share place and they were trying to sell lots to us
- Get in room and then decide to hitch the bus to go downtown again. Rickety ride, but it was a part of the true experience in my mind
- We get off in the downtown area and walk up the hill to this quiet restaurant we see. OMG. IT WAS SOOOOO ROMANTIC!!!
- The hunky Spanish guy who owned the place kept coming to our table, talking to us, asking us how we were, brought us lots of free appetizers, the gal from our area who lived in our area 20 years who was so attentive to us, the wonderful view, and delicious filet mignon was great. It was under $50 for the 2 of us, and we left a great tip for her in American dollars since she spoke of her want to go back to the US and the conversion was in her favor.
- Back to the hotel where we criticize everything about the room like the nasty floor. It was a brick tile, but as we walked across in our socks our feet turned black. Uncomfy bed too.
SATURDAY 12/31/11
- Wake up and shower, prepare to go to on the next leg of our journey
- Try to check out the hotel wants us to check out, the line is super long, so we say screw it and leave
- Hail a taxi on our own to pier
- We have some quesadillas as I'm hungry prior to departure
- We then get the boat and head off to a more remote part of PVR
- 45 minute ride - it was on the cold side
- Jump off the boat - no pier- and off to our open air hotel
- Concierge greeted us as did the porter to get our bags off boat
- She makes us some tart margaritas and shows us the entire hotel, gives us the details about what to do, where to go, and answers all questions
- Go to cafe at pier for lunch where Mike has some delicious rice salad and I have a ceviche
- Add some tequila to make the margaritas better once she is gone, freshen up, and she lets us know about dinner plans, then makes reservations for us at the yot club
- Tequila shot time!
- Shower and dress for dinner, hop on the boat, and off to the club
- Few people there, we find a seat, and listen to the music, order some margaritas. The service was ok here, not great. We eat in candlelight. Had steak, lobster, and rice, dessert was pie
- Fireworks after dinner
- Back to hotel on boat and then prep for bed once we arrive. I'm brushing my teeth at 11:55.
- We hop into bed and fall asleep quickly, no New Years kiss for either of us, so we did it at like 12pm instead when we both brought up how we didn't remember kissing each other

SUNDAY 1/1/12
- Eggs and guac for breakfast - delish! Great bread too!
- Walk through town and around
- End up on the beach where we are hounded by a guy there wanting to get us drinks and invites us to sit at his restaurant, and we agree
- 2-3 cervezas y a passion fruit margarita later we are hungry for lunch, which was nachos for him and a chile relleno for me
- Chat on the beach with a cougar from Canada and her younger guy, who were on the boat with us the day prior. They were super friendly.
- We decide to do parasailing since it was only $30 and was about 10-15 minutes
- Parasailing was so fun and freeing, relaxing
- Back to talk with the couple who is insistent we try the margaritas she was drinking. We each order one, then they ran out when she wanted another, but were able to find her one. It was a tart fruit margarita.
- Take boat back to hotel where we relax and play on our iPads
- Prep for dinner in candlelight, a private chef came to our room, a lady who owns a restaurant in town, and made us guacamole, salsa, breaded tuna, and rice, which was good. It was a nice experience, but we probably wouldn't do it again
- More tequila shots after dinner and relax
- Bed early

MONDAY 1/2/12
- Walk around town and up to the water fall after breakfast of omelets
- Take photos, visit the beach, relax on the beach
- Chat with another Canadian couple for about 3-4 hours about her being an ESL teacher, her travels every year to this place, the fact she speaks Spanish
- Back to hotel about 5 to relax
- Wind down and I attempt at making the perfect margarita for dinner, which I did a pretty good job at we discovered
- Bed about 10 and we were up most of the night thanks to the waves crashing on the rocks below us

TUESDAY 1/3/12
- Up and around, shower, off to the bay cafe for breakfast with delicious pancakes. I had a burrito, though
- Back to hotel where we wait for the boat to get us to go back to PVR
- Nice and warm boat ride back- warmer than the last time
- Off to boat we get a taxi to the hotel
- Go to hotel bar near pool for lunch. It was close to $30 for these icee style margaritas that were hardly drinkable
- Decide we need to try a gem for dinner
- Walk around the hotel area
- For dinner Mike suggests we take a taxi to a restaurant that didn't seem to far away, but was way up on a hill, so we were glad we did. Food was good, very Americanized, though. Had a sexy cawfee, which was sooooo fun. They flambé the alcohol.
- We walk down the street from the hotel and grab a cab to go home
- Fool around that night
WEDNESDAY 1/4/12
- Up and adam, shower, then off to explore the town after spending the morning reading
- Go to downtown via bus where he buys house numbers, tequila, end up in a tequileria where we sample numerous tequilas and spend mucho en it. Puedes decir margaritas?
- Stopped for chips and guac at a 2nd story restaurant with 2 for 1 drinks and other specials
- Bus back to hotel where we relax for a few hours
- Off to dinner and take a cab to a delicious fish place in the gay area of Vallarta. I had mahimahi and he had red snapper. We had the freshest mussels too with delicious sourdough.
- Back to hotel to play some more
THURSDAY 1/5
Some day our friend's ship will come in...
waited around in the morning for J and B to arrive in on their cruise ship. It was a coincidence that we were in a foreign country together on the same day. We decided the hotel played too much on the all-inclusive thing, which was not our thing. We surprised them, they had their new shoes on, but thankfully had sandals, that we were taking them back to the paradise we had just spent 3 days in. They were shocked and B was worried. J was intrigued. We took the boat ride, I sat next to J and chatted with him.
- Arrive, hop off boat, find bathroom for B
- Meet our ESL teacher Canadian friend
- Dine on Pacificos, ceviche, and salsa
- Feeling a little tipsy, so it was time to walk through town
- Do a short walk through- Mike wasn't hungry, so no restaurant, no water fall
- Meet our concierge as we try to get the boat, she was going to PVR
- Chat with J about his dad's health, my dad's health, etc., share pics of our trip, talk about his trip
- Take them to the romantic restaurant we went to. OUr waitress saw us and hurried back up to help us. Hunky guy was there too.
- We spend the better part of 3 hours dining and catching up.
- We grab a taxi and go back to the cruise terminal, then off to our hotel
- The 2 of us hardly sleep as the beds are so uncomfy

FRIDAY 1/6/12
- Up early since we couldn't sleep
- Check out of hotel, get everything together
- Get taxi, Mike forgets passport, driver turns around, go to bank, taxi driver waits for us, but it was confusing to get help, so Mike returned and we were off to the airport
- Ate some nasty place in the airport on the 2nd floor with horrible Mexican food
- Flight home
- Customs was tough in our connection city
- Made it back home, stopped at a fish grill for dinner
- Watch TV at his house until 11:30. We made it home about 9:30. Got off flight at 6:30. Baggage claim didn't start until 7:15, which made for 2 very unhappy passengers whose bags should have been taken off the plane immediately.
SATURDAY 1/7/12
- Up at 7:30
- SHower
- Eat omelets, take off for home about 10
- Spend the day with the family, celebrate my birthday, they got me an electric razor, which was perfect since mine broke the night before at Mike's on the tile floor in the kitchen as I got it out of my bag
- Went to CCG for dinner - it was so-so
SUNDAY
- Up at 8:30... I hardly slept... it was too hot or too cold
- Mommy made me breakfast... my favorite
- Off to Mike's about 12:30 when the power company stopped blocking our driveway
- Arrive at his place and open the huge bag of gifts- there were like 6 expertly wrapped gifts including margarita mix, 2 pairs of shoes, a brand name watch I'd been eyeing, a dog card (inside joke between the 2 of us), and toothbrush heads for my toothbrush
- He didn't have to do all of that, especially after our big trip we just had, but he's too sweet, and I love him
- He takes me to lunch for animal styol fries at In-N-Out. he'D never had them and thought they were pretty good. He can stop giving me grief over them.
- Went shoe shopping where I got my green shoes
- Go home and nap because now I'm old
- Wake up to texts from coworkers, deal with that, swap lesson plans
- Off to dinner at our favorite steakhouse where we ordered practically everything off the happy hour menu and finished with dessert... so good... 2 nice glasses of wine
- Home, lesson prep for a sec cuz my plans had changed thanks to my coworker
- And then he fucks me in bed, which was not what I was feeling last night, but it was fun
- he had to pack for work

MONDAY
- He was up at 4am to make it to the airport on time
- I'm at his place tonight getting my z's on and to ensure I get to work early mañana

Met his parents
SUNDAY
Arrive at 7pm at Mike's. We exchange gifts. We filled each other's stockings and bought each other gifts. I got him a brand name watch, which was funny since he bought me the same watch, but the cheaper brand of it. I found a great price for his on amazon. I also got dinnerware for him that he has been eyeing. He bought me a sweater that I wore on Friday that was brown and orange and perfect for NJ as he termed. He also got me a purple BN sweater, which I had been wanting. We got lots of candy for each other in our stockings. I don't think he'd planned to spend that much, but went out and bought stuff after he found I was serious about the gifts and a stocking. We wait around to leave until the town Santa comes through, but they were too far away and weren't going to get to us. We head out the opposite directions and I drive us to the hotel. While driving Mike wants to hear all about my family's holiday traditions, and then of course makes fun of me and tells me how weird that was. Every subsequent person we met throughout the week heard just how weird my family is. We get to the hotel, check in, then get Perrier water at the convenience store down the street, then back to the hotel to sleep. We go to bed about 11.

Monday
Get a text bright and early from Linda at 5am. We take the hotel shuttle to the airport in OC. We are in economy on our flight to NY. We arrive in NJ, get a rental car, go to Mike's parent's to surprise them - he told them we'd arrive Tuesday. When we arrived it was just like, "oh, you're here, you're early, that's nice," which was so different than the reaction I'd have had in my family, but it was cool to see the contrasts in our families. We get in to NJ about 3pm. We go to the hotel after for drinks and do some shopping in 2 outlets around his house.

Tuesday
We get up at 10:30, we slept in. We go to his mom and dad's house where we take her mom and her friend to their nail appointment. We go to Hallmark and Starbucks in the meantime. Then we go to the Jersey shore to Seafood Shanty for lunch. We had seafood. Then we drive around the area and suddenly end up at the Jersey SHore house. Of course i had to get out and take photos/get pictures of me in front so that I can show my kids at work. Afterward, we go to the mall, drop his mom and friend off, then we are off to babysit a friend of his twins', afterward we stop at Princeton Uni, and then to a few stores before going back to the hotel for drinks. Bed about 1.

WEDNESDAY
We get up about 10, then go to a Jersey snadwich place for a Jersey breakfast, which was pork, eggs, and cheese on a hard roll. It was pretty good. We go to his mom's afterwards and hang out with his dad who was home for a few hours from work. He wants to go pick up his tile for their kitchen, so we go there, then when his mom gets back we go to Sams, WalMart, and the outlet mall. I fell more in love with him as we went through Sam's and his mom was so cute as she asked, "want any wine?," and he said no, but it was so cute, I could never/rarely see my mom doing that, and how explicitly she asked was hilarious. I push her around Sams. We end up at the outlet mall later after we drop his mom off. We also go to an expensive $20+ per plate Chinese place that was really tasty- it should have been for that price! We visit the local mall where we get his niece and mom gifts, and I get my sister a few thingys too. They don't really exchange gifts, and he talks about how he doesn't have to shop for gifts, yet he bought stuff for his mom, dad, and little niece. Cute- that sounds like him. We go back to the hotel since bottles of wine were buy 1 get 1 free and split that between the 2 of us.

THURSDAY
We were up early to go to Jersey, but of course had to play around. We stopped by Mike's mom's, then we called his friend LaRa whom I'd met before. We picked her up before going into the city. We drove into the city and found the hotel, walked to the Chelsea Market, a large indoor mall, then to a pizza place called Artichoke Pizza. We went back to the hotel and changed for going to see the Rockettes. We walk down to RadYo City and watch the show. It was really good- the Santa parts were slow, but the Rockettes were fantastic- so in sync! We walk down to RockefFFFeller Center after to see the tree and take pictures in front of it. We admire many of the store fronts and stop in stores like Uniqlo. We go uptown to meet Mike's friend Kaytee who was a veterinarian. She was coming from work and we met her at a bar, the MickGee's Bar shown in the TV show 2 1/2 Men that is right below her apartment. We then go to a restaurant in Hell'z Kitchen called Nook that I highly recommend as it is BYOB and very reasonable- great salmon- and Mike and his friend brought the booze back. It was cute. Everyone made comments about who was the drunk- Mike. It was pretty fun. We go back to Rockefeller and down to Time's Square. We eat at a TGI Fridays and have dessert- vanilla bean cheesecake. We get back to the hotel at 1am- we take the train back and walk a little bit.
FRIDAY
We get up at 9:30, shower, and go outside of the hotel to find flowers for Mike's mother. We get the car and head out of Jersey to a diner shown on Guy Fieri's Diner's, Drive Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. I had an omelette and it was ok. Mike dropped me off at the airport about 3 and we kiss/hug. I get in about 8pm. It was so hard to say goodbye and I would have loved to stay with him throughout Christmas.

- Dinner after with my former boss and mentor, who I was SOOOOOOO thrilled to see... LOVE MRS. C
- Planned to go home, and did, but a pipe broke in the bathroom that resulted in the bathroom being flooded Wed. night, and no water, so he told me to go to my boyfriend's if I wanted a shower

FRIDAY
- Up at 6:30

- After work we went to a ritzy restaurant overlooking the city where we thought we would try their happy hour, but their happy hour was only limited to the bar and we had to pay the valet we found out
- Planned to go there, then an upscale French restaurant
- The reservation paper for the French restaurant was rattling in the door my BF thought, and it drove him crazy, but it wasn't
- Restaurant overlooking city was alright- overpriced- but we would go back for the view- food was ok
- Not super hungry, so decide on Korean BBQ for dinner
- I had some Korean sushi and soup thingy
- I had some Korean water that my Korean student is always drinking in class with a marble in the glass and I never knew that it was a glass bottle, so he held the bottle extra carefully, but also he didn't want the marble to make noise, so held the bottle so it wouldn't... had to tease him about that Monday morning, and of course I was cool with him for trying it. - Great happy hours there
- Lots of cruisy guys too in Lil Tokee-o
- Back on Metro and on a different line to go to Loz Feleez for pie at a well known pie place featured on the Travel Channel
- Butterscotch pie reminded me of marshmallows and butterscotch... good stuff

- Head back to Younyun Station for the car
- Private party going on at train station... pretty cool...
- Back to his place where we watched TV, but first stopped at WallyWorld for a few things, got a call from a friend who could help me with my class while there, didn't see any students... whew!
- BF enjoyed the day, and I planned it, he was just to sit back and relax, he did want to take control... hahaha... we had fun... he still doesn't love the city, but hoping that will change... he should... it has innovative underground subway in some places... and it is scary... especially in an Earthquake, but that's another story for another time

Almost a week with him
WEDNESDAY NIGHT
- Spent the night at Mike's- my justification was the early teacher's meeting
- We spent time in his office before getting ready
- We went on a drive for dinner. We were going to try Christophe's in Upland, but then ended up at some buffet after seeing how nothing sounded good. The steakhouse we like was a possibility. I mentioned Mexican. He was craving Chinese, so a semi-Chinese buffet worked. My mom and Linda frequent this buffet- it is over in their neck of the woods... It was alright... nothing spectacular... and as Mike declared it has filled his buffet needs for the next 3 years
- Stop at Lowes, JCPenney, and Sears Grand looking for lamps. JCPenney had 2 on clearance for $15
- Back to his place where we watch TV, then play around trying some new positions
THURSDAY
- Up at 6:30, shower
- 3:50pm I'm ready to leave work when Blondie asked if I could drive her home as she was sick. I did. We went to her house and had a "date" where her mom in law cooked for us. Tough night hearing why she was sick. We were laughing and planning our gay dates (we are going out as couples soon- Mike and myself, her gf and herself)
- Back home for a few minutes about 8pm to get clothes and break it to my parents I'm leaving for the night
- Mike calls asking if I could get cookies. I hear cooking on the phone, then I hear chocolate chips. I didn't know he said no chocolate chips. Dang AT&T. He was a little disappointed I got chocolate chips.
- Bed about 10:30ish
FRIDAY
- Up at 6:30
- Ready 2 leave work at 3:30 when Blondie asks if I wanted to go to Happy Hour. I text Mike and he said he had work to do, to go ahead. I asked him a couple times if he were sure and how he should come along. He said nah.
- Left Happy Hour at 7
- Get to Mike's and go to get food. Do dinner at Mimi's Cafe where I had salmon
- CHit chat about Happy Hour and what I learned about work
- Stop at Fresh & Easy where they had such a poor selection on stuff we needed
SATURDAY
- Up at 9 or so
- Shower
- Go to a place by the casino for breakfast at divey/steak place
- Go get the car washed and it takes forever, but the car was definitely Armor Alled when we were done... lubed
- Home to make chili for the party
- Watch TV between 2 and 5
- Pack a bag for the night and we head out to the Youtube Party
- I submitted 1 of the youtube videos i mentioned last week
- The party was a bunch of teachers of his friend M and A, and Disney freaks
- Jeff and Brian, his other friends from cruising were there, and we mostly chatted with them
- Mike and I sat bored watching awful drag queen youtube videos
- J & B invited us to their house to stay the night, so we went
- Lots of talking about school and our relationship
- B is also a teacher
- We chat until 1:30am or so, so a good 90 minutes
- Mike tickles me nonstop in bed
SUNDAY
- Woke up about 8:30
- Showered
- Sat out on the patio talking about cruises, coffee, friends, and school, talking about being cheap, hearing their stories about frugalness
- SUNDAY BRUNCH!
- Mike drove to a Chinese place that he vetoed after seeing the buffet as it was mostly meat and didn't look great
- Go to Don Jose that had a nice champagne brunch and our drinks were always full... mine was refilled 7 or 8 times and the joke became about how normal I seemed... Brian asked if I was always this normal when under the influence... Mike said no and had some far fetched story about my drunkenness and I just said I get really touchy. I walked just fine to the bathroom
- GREAT CONVOS about vacations and we're going to be vacationing in the same place after New Years, so hopefully we meet up. I REALLY enjoyed them- this was my 2nd time meeting them
- Stop at Banana Republic in Chino on the way home... Mike didn't get Chino... also visited Nordstrom RacK
- Nap on the couch when we get home
- Dinner at a pizza place down the street from the casino that was super disappointing- tons of cheese and no flavor- another disappointment on our list. I drove and paid.
- Back to his place where we fell asleep on the couch watching some On Demand movie he rented with Anne Hathaway and Goldie Hawn's daughter, Hudson, what's her name, the one where 2 girls are best firends and getting married on the same day
- Made our way to the bedroom about 1:30
MONDAY
- Up about 8:30
- Showered and watched morning news
- He made eggs over easy and toast
- Watch TV on the couch until 1:30 when we decide to go to Palm Springs
- Go to our favorite seafood place, but then decided to see what was out there. 2 other happy hours didn't start until 5:30 and Palm Desert was mostly dead, so we ended up in a Mexican place that is always super busy, but wasn't super busy.
- Had a 3 1/2 shot margarita that had us both tipsy and him too far gone to drive, so we had to walk around to kill the buzz
- We had a quesadilla there too that was pretty ok
- Stop at Kohls where he buys pants and ties
- Get back to his place about 7 and head home... home at 7:30... tell family about adventures... blogging now... preparing for my week

5 days together
WEDNESDAY
- get to Mike's about 5. He makes the fish and mini potato supper for us
- go to Best Buy after dinner so I could get an iPad case
- back at his place we watch SYTYCD
- bed about 10:30
THURSDAY
- up at 7
- cuddle, shower
- he runs to the dentist for his retainers and I hang out at his house eating some toast and do the dishes
- he has a couple calls
- go to vegan Chinese food place for lunch. The meal was not what we had imagined. The vegetarian chicken reminded me of the frozen section's Banquet Salisbury Steak
- Hang out a little more at his place
- Go out to dinner at the steakhouse we like... we were going to try Fleming's Steakhouse, but at 5pm the Happy Hour was PACKED and it had just started
- At dinner we discuss what movies made him go vegetarian and sugar contents. I learned the sugar packet rule as well as things like there are what equates to nearly 17 sugar packets in a Mcdonald's Strawberry Lemonade or sweet tea. I'm now obsessed with sugar... lol. Sugar is how Mike is convinced you lose weight, and how people forget that.
- Back at his place I fall asleep on the couch while we watch SYTYCD
- Bed about 1:30am?
FRIDAY
- Up at 7
- He has a call in the morning, so handles that while I lounge in bed on my iPad and iPhone.
- Get dressed and shower
- Take off for a couple hours to see my dad/family
- Back at Mike's about 4pm... traffic was miserable.
- We go to New York Grill in Ontario for Happy Hour. We were disappointed by the poor quality- he would have rathered the more expensive appetizer menu- and I agree.
- I sipped on a glass of wine I really liked, a riesling from BV Vineyard in Napa, which we found was owned by Nabisco and is now owned by Guiness... Mike said it was made by Nabisco... no wonder I liked it. LOL.
- Buy tickets to see "Super 8," which he decides is just a modern day ET
- Go back to his place and hang out
SATURDAY
- Up about 9... we cuddled and played around first
- Eggs with salsa for breakfast and toast
- He says he is going to wash the car and then suddenly we are in the car for a day out and about
- We wind up down in Fontana at a self serve car wash that was packed, so we skip it
- He asks if I want to go to San Diego, Orange County, or LA. I said OC. We hit traffic on the 91 heading to the OC. He decides Laguna is too cold. He asks how far it is to LA Farmer's Market.
- Punch that in the navigation and we are off. He was hesitant as we drove that it was too touristy. I said it was touristy and locals, but I had hesitance as I responded because I know he doesn't like crowds
- Park and walk around the farmer's market
- Stop at a Spanish place called Little Spain that I highly recommend. Their fideua was soooooooooooooooo delicious. That's what Mike had, and I liked his better than my meat sandwich. Mine was good, but his was DIVINE. He told the waitress it was fantastic. And it was.
- Walk around The Grove and look at iPad and other accessories in Nordstrom... expensive...
- Back in the car we drive to Santa Monica, then south and hit LAX, then continue south passing Doc Weiler State Beach, then Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, until we wind up in the middle of Palos Verdes Peninsula.
- Stop at Starbucks and kill time on our iPads while looking out at the water
- Back in the car we wind through the refineries in Torrance and make our way home
- I'm googling on my phone sugar contents in desserts we like since I was wanting that. We decide Pink Berry is safe as they have the equivalent of 4-5 sugar packets in their yogurts, which is small compared to many other options. The caramel salted yogurt hits the spot. We both had it.
- Back at his place we hang out, watch some random show, then both fall asleep on the couch
SUNDAY
- Up at 8ish
- Shower
- He does laundry and runs the vacuum
- I fall asleep on the couch while he plays around on his computer about 11
- We head to Pancho Villa's to try their Sunday buffet, but it was a 45 minute wait, so we head to a place called Viva Villa that was super delicious instead. He had a coke. A Mexican coke. He doesn't drink soda. Hahahaha
- I take off about 2pm as my family wanted to see me
- Come home to a mostly complete house... new couch is here, bookcases are in, desk is in, mom's yarn is somewhat under control
- Heading to the gym shortly
- get to Mike's about 5. He makes the fish and mini potato supper for us
- go to Best Buy after dinner so I could get an iPad case
- back at his place we watch SYTYCD
- bed about 10:30

Short, in Mike-terms, but still a good trip wrap up
Had a great cruise to Ensenada on the Carnival Paradise
MONDAY, APRIL 25

- It was so cool to say that we were a couple... he thought I was having a hard time, but I wasn't... I have a boyfriend

- BINGO! 5 games, punchcard
- The gal in front of us won the first game and then I got bingo in the 5th game. I was 3 numbers behind when there were people only 1 away. I got lucky on the final game. It was a bingo the hardway where I had my bottom line. The last 3 numbers I needed were called in a row. I had the "B" and "I," and needed the N-G-O. I called BINGO shaking my card in the air. I won $100. The gal who got bingo first called it and the attendant said she could have called it a while back... boo... but if she had I wouldn't have got the $100, which was taken off of my ship tab for all my drinks. Splitting $200 isn't bad
- Farewell party with free alcohol... Mike downed 5 glasses of white wine and I had 5 whiskey sours... he was buzzing... I went up on stage to dance the electric slide and got him to go with me
- After farewell party he decided we should go to the bar and he ordered me an amaretto sour and then decided he should learn to smoke a cigar... Mr. Anti-Smoking... he walked over and asked the girls sitting in the bar smoking if they would teach him to smoke, but they were smoking cigarettes... love his bursts of outgoingness
- Back to room where he hid in the closet to try and scare me as i was coming out of the bathroom... he did that a few times on this trip and I screamed... Lots of fun
- On the bed we wrestled and tickled each other
- Walked around each deck of the cruise ship so he could walk off the alcohol... he was trailing behind
- Dinner
- Mike was talking nonstop at dinner... I got a few lines in... Airic and Debby swapped phone numbers with Mike. Mike basically told them we were gay and hinted around it... they were the type to pray around dinner. He told them we were going to go to the comedy show, then Friends of Dorothy, and then dance. They were down with that.
- Comedy show... it was ok... Airic bought us a round of drinks
- Went to Rex Dance Club where Debby and I danced to Just Dance by Lady Gaga
