My NY Wear

And my quintessential NY song to go with it.

My clothes surely aren't as exciting as Dan's - I love the color of his, and his shoes. His shoes he is bringing along put mine to shame. Probably my Guess black boots with laces and a pair of dress shoes. Going to bring my peacoat that I don't get to wear enough.

Undershirts to match... lol. Going to wear sweaters over the shirts - a navy blue sweater, purple, and pink.

Shoe binge

I am about to go on a shoe binge. I have found so many cool new shoes I need. For those of you who have followed my blog, I have a lot of shoes. Lots. Well, I have been condensing my shoe collection over the past several months and have whittled down ones I won't wear again or that have been vetoed by my partner. Here's what I am thinking I need now...

I want the above pair of Cole Haan baldy. I have been eyeing these 2 years, but $249 was too expensive. I was at the outlets recently and they had these for $59 in 11.5 and 13, but not 12. I have called all over - NJ, NY, IL, OH and all of them are selling these shoes for $119. They're $119 or so online if they have them. I'm not going to pay $119 when I could have gotten them for $59 had they had my size.

I want a green pair of dress shoes. Wingtips are hot.

Vans are always in - especially in leopard!

One day when I am rich

Inspired by a lunchtime conversation with coworkers - we tried to outdo each other with our "when I am rich" scenarios...

I will buy my BF and I matching laptops.

I will buy some ridiculous item like LV or Coach men's tennis shoes

I will buy some ridiculously expensive Coach or LV messenger bag

I will buy a Lexus, Acura, or Cadillac (hey, I'm a sucker for the sexy SRX and CTS)

I will buy a LV or Diesel iPad case and wallet

Enough of the brandwhore...

I will go skydiving

I will go drop $500 in Vegas

I will take cooking lessons

I will send my parents on a cruise vacation - actually hope to do that in the next year or so

I will pay off my student loan debts

What are some your "when I am rich" 1 liners?

Left my shoes at his house... lol.

FRIDAY

- Met him at his house about 3:30
- We watched Ellen on TV, then took off to the LA County Fair about 4:30
- Stopped at an Italian restaurant in La Verne for dinner... we are glad we did after seeing some of the fair food
- Go to LA County Fair... parking was crazy... we made our own spot cause that's how we roll... we snuck out of the line to park and found our own spot
- People standing outside wanting us to sign their petition... one was about teaching tolerance... it wasn't really, but that's what they said, it was about a law that discriminated against gays, set Mike off, so he filled out a complaint form as we got to the fair.
- Set off looking for farm animals... I never knew where they moved them after all that remodeling.
- Cute and not so cute animals
- Go through a few buildings and decide it is crowded and the same ol' same ol'
- Decide to head home since the ski ride was expensive
- Watch random TV on the couch about 10:30 or 11. We fall asleep on the couch and wake up about 1:20 suddenly. We both huddle to the bedroom

SATURDAY

- Up at 10:30am... his alarm went off at 8, but we turned over and slept until 10:30... the day was already half gone
- Shower and by the time we are done it is nearly noon and we have English muffins/eggs for breakfast
- Watch Aarti on Food Network and decide I need spinach and artichoke dip, but he puts me down saying how unhealthy it was... also decided I needed lasagna
- Go to The Alley, Tai Pei Trading Company, Kohls for pillows, and Olive Garden
- Had an Italian Margarita, which may be my new favorite drink... you can't beat tequila and amaretto... sooooooo good and cuts down on the typical bite of a margarita
- Got my spinach dip and lasagna fritta
- Stop at Fresh & Easy for lasagna ingredients
- Stop at Stater Brothers for the rest of the lasagna ingredients
- Stop at Big Lots for lots of wine
- Go back to Mike's and have pina coladas, as well as wine.
- One wine I picked out, some Bulgarian wine, had a 14.5% alcoholic content, and well, after 3 glasses I felt the buzz
- Lots of tickling, kissing, and poking as we ate the lasagna cups, and laid on the couch
- About 10:30 we made our way to the bedroom and I was very adamant we were going to fool around... I was buzzed... his body felt soooo incredible... it was a nice time

SUNDAY

- Up at 8, shower
- Breakfast of muesli that we bought at Big Lots
- Head off to Oak Glen for apple season... stop at an apple donut place I'd never been... donuts were sooooo tasty
- Not much going on and lots of people, though not as crowded as it could have been, so we headed down the mountain
- Went to Route 66 Rendezvous to say we've gone
- Lots of classic cars
- Go to his place and have more pina coladas
- Watch TV
- We fall asleep about 3 and wake up at 5:15 when my dad calls
- Watch TV, though very tired
- Dinner of Dominos super thin crust pizza that was crispy
- Head home about 7:30... it was dark out!
- He recommended I leave my shoes that he bought me the other day at his house so I always have a pair there... yay!

Going back into the workweek with stylin' new kicks

Mike was sick on Saturday- we had planned to hang, but he had some sort of 24 bug going around. The sheets were washed and we were ready to see each other on Sunday.

SUNDAY
- Went to his house about 10:30, we watched several shows on DVR.
- Sunday evening we were trying to decide what to eat and Mike said he would make polenta and marinara with fake sausage. It was without the veggies this time around, but still good
- Enjoyed a glass of wine
- Got a little sleepy, but managed to stay up for Real Housewives of NJ
- Bed about 10
- Mike gave me a new pair of Cole Haan slip ons to match his. Dress slip on. Now we can be twins!
- As we are heading to bed there are 4 snakes outside of the house. He went into the garage and opened the door to look at something and there were 2 snakes right outside the garage door. He screams, I scream, and we run in the house. We try to go out the front door and I try to go out the front door to get my overnight bag when we see 2 more slithering side to side outside of his front door. HOW SCARY! We shriek, open the door to confirm, then watch through the peep hole as they take off. When the coast was clear I ventured outside, but I needed moral support, Mike to stand at the door to make sure I was safe.
- Fell asleep watching the VMAs and that awesome Adele performance

MONDAY
- Up at 6:30, shower, out of the house and at school by 7:10... that's what is so cool about staying the night at his house
- Work was long... it was a Monday
- I felt tired most of the day
- About 3:45 I get back to Mike's and he said he wanted to go to Target to get lamps to match the lamp shades like we had purchased the night before at Target
- We also go to Nordstrom Rack because there was a sale. MORE SHOES!!! I found a pair of black slip on Cole Haan's that I had seen before, but turned my eye away from since they were $79. They were on sale for $45.80!!!! TOO GOOD OF A DEAL TO PASS UP... sadly that was the only pair of Cole Haan's on sale.
- Mucho appetizers at Market Broiler where I bitched about kids at school and we talked about random stuff. Appetizers included California crunch roll, sauteed (really was just buttered) mushrooms, shrimp cocktail, and sweet/sour calamari. The calamari was pretty good. The happy hour was somewhat disappointing.
- On to Target where we don't really see what we are looking for
- Back to Mike's where we lounge on the couch, chat, and later try some new sex positions. Good stuff. I felt like all arms, though. Boo.
- Bed about 10:45

TUESDAY
- Up at 6:30 and at work by 7:10
- Work was good... got lots done... my ELD kids drove me insane today and I gave a detention. Probably should have given more...
- Allergy shots tonight
- Olive Garden for neverending pasta bowl for dinner
- Dessert time.................... yum

New shoes!

3 new pairs
Found the bottom 2 at Nordstrom Rack today! What a find!
- 1 white pair I got when out with Mike a few weeks ago
- a new pair of green shoes that were on sale for $12.54 at Nordstrom Rack - and they were mismarked badly- size 11
- A new greenish beige pair of Creative Recs to wear when I wear khaki pants so I don't have to wear my clunky Vans and can look dressyish without going Polo preppy - $44.90

Mission accomplished

When and if I finally get paid there are some must buys

1. a foot massage... I wore some Apt 9 shoes from Kohls last week that absolutely killed and pained my feet. I have been trying to work the pain out since. We have a place that advertises an hour foot massage for $19. I absolutely love foot massages. I am going to check it out. After standing on my feet 6.5 hours+ a day, they deserve a treat. I'm thinking this may become a bi-monthly indulgence.
2. Green Vans shoes $45/Red Vans shoes
3. Pay off my credit card $400
4. A new black belt $30-50
5. New pair of slip on dress shoes. Cole Haan maybe? A trip to Cabazon is in the works I think... $100+
6. Treat Mike to a really nice dinner for treating me this summer when funds were low +60-100
7. More shoes! $200+
8. Gray producer pants from Express $60
9. Sport coat? Mike has me toying with the idea. We found one at Banana Republic that has an awesome fit and it beige. I don't know I could pull it off or would actually wear it tons. $100
10. Clearance dress shirts at Macys... they always have so many for like $15 if you have lots of coupons
11. Black Chuck Taylor Converse... I've never owned a pair. Gasp! $40
12. Make a student loan payment to get ahead on that... it will take about 10 years to pay off my loan

Desert food and shopping trip

I didn't work yesterday, so here was what happened:

- Mike had to return his rental car, so I met him at the airport
- He ran up to the car, stuck his head in, and scared me as I was playing AirTycoon on my iPhone
- Mentioned I was hungry and TGI Fridays or Yardhouse sounded good
- He suggested Lucille's
- It was a big meat fest... I had ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. I wasn't planning that and he made fun of me for that
- We loooked up the history of Lucille's, who owned it, and mused over the signs in the restaurant
- Had to stop by my cousin's house to give her tickets to my sister's graduation. Mike stayed in the car even though I invited him in
- Get back to his place and switch cars to his convertible
- I get to look up movie times on his iPad and we decide on "I Am"
- Stop at the Cabazon Outlets where I get a course in good luggage and we get iPad cases at Tumi. He tells me why I must have a Tumi case and I was sooooooooo close to getting a Tumi laptop bag that was a sexy bright orange
- He wouldn't let me get these bronze Vans casual slip ons because no guy should have glittery/flashy shoes like that. He was adamant that I didn't, but they were unique. I could have worn brown and black with them. I was a little disappointed. LOL. I told him he just has a lot of hate for fun shoes like the green that I needed last weekend
- We go to the seafood place out in Palm Desert we like called Pacifica, but there were TONS of people there
- He said we were going to go to Fishermans instead
- We get there in the niche of time as there were 2 open tables - it got so crowded as we were leaving
- We had the mushrooms, which were so-so, garlic bread, 2 tacos y 2 cervezas
- Stop at Ross where I convince him to get 2 pairs of shoes and I get 1 slip on brown pair that I could actually tell would look good with jeans. I'm a bad influence because I let him buy shoes.
- We see "I Am," a documentary from the guy behind Jim Carey and Bruce Almighty movies. It brought up some interesting points like in Darwin's books he talks about the need for connection/unity and the part that is emphasized is survival of the fittest... made me want to go read it and check it out... sorta. Mike talked about how his coworkers/salespeople are all geared toward survival of the fittest and they're such slimes
- On the way home we discuss disturbing songs from The Band Perry as they were playing on XM Radio. Here's what we heard. The last few lines of "You Lie" is disturbing and then what is not disturbing about their song "If I Die Young?"

- Drive back to his place to watch Oprah's Most Memorable Guests, then go through Wednesday and Thursday's Idol in about 30 minutes. He didn't want to hear Scotty sing, was over Lauren, and didn't like Haley. I am glad the 2 country singers are the top 2, which is very surprising and I did not predict. I thought James would have been one of the last as I said before. I am guessing Lauren is the next American Idol.
- Played around a little
- Bed at 12:30

SATURDAY MORNING
- Woke up at 7:30
- Showered
- He packed for his week of business trips
- I entertained the cats
- We talked about our preparations for the end of the world as we know it tonight.

Off to the casino now to see my cousin with the family.

Birthday Weekend

Hopefully blogger is back up and working... it was so frustrating this past week with the outages, posts not posting, posts not working...

THURSDAY
- Mike was in Dallas for work and his flight was diverted to San Francisco- he took what flight he could get out of Dallas due to weather. We were worried he might have to fly to LAX and I'd have to get into his house to get our tickets for Ellen
- He made it into the nearby airport by 8:30am and I met him at 11
- We were going to see the Ellen Show in LA
- He let me play with his iPad as we drove and played a new game he found on his iPad that was totally addicting called AirTycoon.
- I played AirTycoon most of the way to LA and kept losing $$$$... Mike laughed at my inability to make money
- Stop for a few things at CVS
- Go to Taco Bell for lunch... chicken taco was ok
- Went to Taco Bell down the street from NBC Burbank with tons of child star photos inside... none we knew... but this was the Taco Bell for short people... signs everywhere to watch your head
- After we go to Ellen
- We see some midwesterners there and other eccentric people... a guy with a studded leather purse... a mom and daughter with $ from Cincinnati... a gay nightclub singer
- Lots of waiting to be seated for Ellen show... very different than Leno
- The show starts- the guests were Collin Farrell, Christina Perri, and Lil John from Apprentice

- We got the Justin Bieber movie (OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and Christina Perri's CD... her CD is pretty good
- Mike is starved as am I - he suggests food trucks - we find the Grilled Cheese Truck nearby
- I have the amazing mac and cheese with pork rib grilled cheese
- They were parked outside of a winery and the winery had a $5 wine tasting promotion in conjunction with the truck visit
- We go in and sample the wines, talk about Ellen experience and my Leno experience
- Ellen was much more structured and she interacted much less with the audience, which was disappointing. She just came out at the end to say a really short thanks. Leno was personable on the other hand and came out before the show to take pictures, meet audience members.
- Traffic was bad since it was 5:30 on a Thursday, so we drive down to the 210 and make our way home about 8:30
- Talk to my professor about my final corrections for my masters paper

FRIDAY
- I didn't get called to sub :(
- Mike had a call at 5:30am and worked until 11 or so
- Wish Mike a Happy Birthday when we wake up
- He emerges from work about 11 and says we should go to Vegas as he found an awesome cheap hotel using his points
- I surprise him with 2nd row concert tickets to see Adele next month... SCORE!!! He loved that!

- Call my mom and tell her, pack, and then we are off to get a rental
- Rental was between a Maxima and Santa Fe. I said Santa Fe and he said Maxima. The Maxima won. No complaints- it was comfy.
- Cruise to Vegas playing AirTycoon and I start to make money
- Talk about lots of stuff to do in Vegas, my sad paychecks, work
- Get to Vegas about 5
- We stopped at the outlets at stateline for Williams and Sonoma and Old Navy
- At the hotel we check in and look at how "shady" it looks
- I search on yelp to find an awesome special at Fiamma inside MGM where appetizers are under $10
- Sit at a table at the bar chatting with 2 older ladies and a daughter from Seattle - we talked about Seattle, good eats, and they advised us what to eat
- We had the bruschetta, gnocchi, and mussels --- gnocchi was DELICIOUS
- Dinner was my treat for his birthday
- We go for a walk down the strip and try to take the Deuce bus... it should be pronounced doosh... they were serious dooshes... we put $7 in the machine that we didn't get back because the sign was lying about the fares and the bitch handling the fares kicked us off hte bus and the driver couldn't speak English. Mike was so pissed off calling the driver and fare taker fuckers... never thought I'd see that side of him
- We walk down the strip while he calms down and I do too to an extent
- Go to Downtown Vegas... old Vegas...
- Drive down and park... this is the Vegas you see in the movies!!!

- Walk through the casinos and see the old signs and what Vegas was... it was a cool trip
- Go into the Californian Casino... tons of Hawaiians there
- They actually let you play quarters and pennies and you the machine spits out coins... the old slots
- Mike teaches me to play poker at one of the video poker machines... sort of have the hang of it
- I was insistent I had to play a penny machine and was not going to be happy until I did. I lose Mike for a few minutes and find my machine. I put $5 in and was down to $1.40. Suddenly I get into the bonus round on some machine (something Fiesta?) and I have 14 free plays. I end up winning $51.05. Mike was shocked.
- I treated him to cheesecake at Smiths grocery after. We looked for Albertsons, but only found Cardenas and every Albertsons on his GPS ended up being Cardenas and he didn't like the barrio look or impuestos store on every corner.
- Get some cheesecake and go back to hotel
- We end up making out, which we hadn't really done and he rode me, which he had never done... saw a different wild side of him that I liked

SATURDAY
- Go to the Dunkin Donuts we saw on the drive in - we don't have those in Cali by the way
- I have a cinnamon and raisin bagel, iced tea, then we get the mini donuts for the road
- Go to Fry's Electronics and look at iPad cases and accessories
- We go to the Hoover Dam

- We take the tour where we go above and in the dam wall. We take lots of dam pictures.
- It was cool to see the inside and it is hard to imagine anyone building anything there (even a dam) with all the rock
- I liked looking out of the dam and the picture of both of us from the inside
- We walk the Pat Tillman Bridge above the dam - it was kind of scary to look up at it and see how high it was when we were at the dam
- After we go to the Red Rock Casino since they had a good happy hour
- We found a good sushi place special and the gal serving didn't charge us for the drinks and was really friendly. The LCD roll we had was good... not sure what was in it... don't recall, just remember it being good
- Drive to Freed's Bakery as seen on Rachael Ray's $40 a Day for dessert. I had been searching for the best desserts in Vegas. This ranks up there. We got a couple cookie sampler boxes, red velvet cake, and strawberry shortcake. The red velvet cake was excellent - I was upset they used buttercream and not cream cheese icing, but the flavor of the cake was amazing.
- Mike doesn't let me get the green Vans shoes at Nordstrom Rack and tells me how they'd only look good in my mind. I want. They are only $24. I plan to check our Nordstrom Rack tomorrow.
- I also found a pair of Cole Haan casuals in black and brown that I just loved, but couldn't dream of paying $79 for - especially when I know I need to save my money since I don't have summer paychecks and I have a boyfriend. If I had them, though, I could guarantee that they would be awesome, I'd love them, wear them, they'd make my world go around, and ensure that the sky stays blue. They're that important.
- Mike gets some undies at Marshalls
- Mediterranian hookah bar... Mike had never done hookah and was surprised I had... had some so-so hummus and good calamari
- Both restaurants we found MIke said would be must stops for him when he go to Vegas from now on
- Go back to hotel to play AirTycoon on my phone and his iPad
- Cuddle on the bed as we eat our treats from Freeds
- Bed about 9:30

SUNDAY
- Up around 7:30
- Search for McDonalds
- Talk about living in Vegas/ridiculous investments in Vegas/Phoenix/his friends who have places in Vegas and Phoenix and are in over their head
- Drive back and play more AirTycoon
- Back at Mike's about 1
- Watch Real Housewives of NY, the Food Network Chef Show with Border Grill lady
- Family keeps calling, texting, and emailing, so I head home
- Home about 5
- Lots of family drama I managed to miss this weekend... whew! So tired of my Aunt in Nor Cal. So tired of my sister. She called me a "ducking fitch" because she was mad I was home and being the good Christian she is...

10 Essentials

Ty in SD inspired me to create this list of 10 essentials in my everyday life.

1. My iPhone.
I use my phone for everything- to call, text, restaurant reviews, surf the web, email, translate random Spanish, stay connected to the latest news and entertainment, listen to the music, and watch videos on Netflix. My iPhone just makes everything so easy!

2. My keys
I love to drive and travel. I love to explore new places. My car keys allow me the freedom to go where I want, when I want, and see what I want.

3. Shoes
With over 30+ pair one can say that shoes are a big part of my life. I have lots of colors and a pair to match everything I wear. If I don't have a match to clothes that is permission for me to buy a new pair. I like shoes that are a little whimsical and ones many wouldn't wear because they're unusual looking.

Shoes I purchased at Nordstrom Rack this weekend for $24

4. The Mikebook Pro
My laptop. I do schoolwork and homework from it, manage my finances, pay bills, stay up to date on friends with the internet and email. It is with me everywhere I go, in the car, at work, on my bed, on my couch.

5. My calendar
I have to be organized. I like knowing I have a purpose or task to complete each day. I don't like to miss events. I excel at time management- who else has time to go out as much as I do?

6. A job
It gives me joy and a little money to buy things. It challenges me at times and frustrates me too.

7. Music
Country, oldies, pop, rock and roll- I like it all. I have 2,549 songs on my iPod this morning and easily know of 100 or so more I could use on my Ipod.
7 songs to celebrate music being my #7

8. Pullovers and sweater pullovers are my new essential... preppy and classy. I have a red and black pullover. I would like a nicer black one than the one I have. I have beige and blue pullover sweaters from Banana Republic similar to these. These match so much of my clothes and help me to switch up what I wear. Layering is definitely in. I would love to have a brown one...

So tempted to get the Nordstrom Debit Card.

9. Ole Henriksen Nurture Me
I have EXTREMELY dry skin that is susceptible to flaking, itching, and burning. This stuff applied twice a day works miracles. It is the best thing I have discovered to date, and should be at $40 a pop.

10. NPR and other news websites
NPR often has stories typically not heard elsewhere, which gives me something to talk about with friends and colleagues. And it makes me sound smarter... lol. I like to talk about events, entertainment news, music, current events, and more.

Since I haven't blogged about my kicks in a while

Here's a look at what I've acquired in the last __ months. I'm ashamed to say how many months.

2 of the pairs were gifts and all of them I bought were on sale at less than $40. Who can resist?

And I still need more...

I'm trying to catch up to someone I know who has 50+ pairs.

Sunday night frustrations- Sunday started good

I texted Mike this morning about 9:30 to tell him I was sunburned. It was because we were out in his convertible yesterday. He texted back an LOL and told me he told me that would happen. LMAO. He said his friends wanted to meet in Brea, not Palm Springs at 3:30. He asked when I was ready. I told him about 11:15 since I was putting together my TV stand. He asked if I wanted him to pick me up in my city. I said sure. He asked where. I probably should have said my house, but out of convenience, or so I thought said the Albertsons shopping center down the street about 4 miles close to the freeway. I thought that would be best because it was right next to the freeway, but with all of the construction, the fact the shopping center has a Dennys that is super crowded on Sundays, it probably wasn't the best idea. He found me and he was driving his new dark gray Crosstour since he figured I didn't want to get sunburned again. I laughed and told him I was fine.

We go to Fry's Electronics where he looks for a monitor switch and I look at HDMI cables, but then find a VGA adapter for my laptop instead. He finds some wifi thing for his electronics. After, we look for a place to eat. He wanted pizza, but there were no eat in Pizza Huts in Anaheim we could find. We settled on El Torito- an El Torito I went to with Ry- but of course he didn't know that. They were having their Sunday buffet, which he was hesitant to try. It was alright, but nothing super. We drank raspberry collins and Coronas and talked about politics in education- namely how the union works- of course NJ is better than CA he thinks. We go to Nordstrom Rack and Sears Outlet after to kill time. We both wound up with a pair of shoes at the Nordstrom Rack in the same size. I joked we're going to share since they're the same size- and it is unusual I can fit in a 12. We go to ChaCha's in Brea for margaritas before the movie. It was happy hour, so we had their house for $5. He invites me out to Palm Springs tomorrow, and at the time sounded good, but I had school I had forgotten until we talked about it in the car tonight. DAMN.

We meet 2 hot and cute guys that are good friends of his, Bryan and Ryan (I think- one of the guys looked like a friend of mine from high school and I kept wanting to call him that, so his name just isn't sticking with me.) We saw "The King's Speech," which I could tell Mike was getting restless during. We began poking and rubbing each other's legs. We went to TAPS Fish afterwards where Mike and I split appetizers- the margharita pizza and calamari. The calamari was good. I talked to the friend that looked a lot like the one I went to high school with- his boyfriend was a 6th grade teacher- anyways we chat just about subbing mainly, since that made for lots of convo. Mike didn't mention the specific site we met on when he asked how we met. It was one of those moments where it felt like we were in a relationship... lol.

On the way home Mike is playing with his iPhone switching songs and we are at a light. A police officer comes up beside us, it is dark out, notices us playing with the phone, chuckles, and makes it clear he knew we were in the wrong. It was funny. Mike blamed me for not telling him. He also blamed me for the fingerprints on his mirror. I told him my fingerprints were much neater than that. I have beautiful hands, that's why. He dropped me off at my car about 8:30 and we may hang out tomorrow.

I have to say I am getting the feeling where I feel like I am falling for him. I feel the sadness when I leave him, the wanting to be with him, feeling frustrated being at home, and the general like for him.

I am so frustrated with my dad on another hand. I bought a closet organizer for my closet. He decided to put it together for me since it was just sitting in my room. I didn't ask him to. I don't know why he insisted. If I do it right, I damn well know it will work, or I will make it work. He assembled it wrong and didn't even assemble it in the closet. I take everything out of my closet tonight to fit it in. I don't know what my dad did, but there are pieces missing or something. Don't touch my damn stuff if I didn't ask you to. You'll break it. So now the rack is vicariously leaning in the closet. I'm not sure how it'll stay. I shot my dad a snide email telling him he should probably fix it and where the directions are. Wrong way to handle it, on Valentine's Day, when there are so many other little issues going on, especially when I won't be home tomorrow night and don't want my dad in my closet because he'll have to take all of my clothes out, mess up the organization, etc., but I don't care.

I am just annoyed about a few other things with him. I'm annoyed at my mom and the whole thing with my grandma/aunt. My sister. I never got that Excel assignment fixed that my sister deleted. I need to redo it and am running out of time. My sister did it at a time when I was feeling so overwhelmed with everything else, and I still feel that way, and I have no motivation to redo it. I hate her. I don't really care how I do on the quiz for that class this week- I'll probably get a B+ as it is because of her. I know I shouldn't blame other people and it is a weak excuse, but I am. Grrrrrr.

I'm frustrated with school and put off doing all of my homework this week. It is so unlike me. I'm behind. I didn't do a quiz because I bombed the one last week. I tried. I plan to wake up early and knock everything out tomorrow morning.

My plan for tomorrow:
6:30 wake up
7:00 breakfast
7:30 start on the reading/quiz
9:00 write my paper/thesis deal
11:00 done
seriously considering ditching class tomorrow... it is Valentine's Day and Mike is free... but then I'd lose 7.5% of my grade for that class with 1 absence, but I'd find some excuse. It's not like I'm getting an A anyways after my sister.

Mike's Christmas gift to himself

2 pairs of Creative Recreation shoes from their website for $27 a piece - regular $92. A little bit of a departure from what I'd normally wear.

I'm here!

Busy, busy week!!!

I've been subbing everyday this week. Everyone seems to have that horrible cough that is going around that seems to drain you, and lasts several days, so teachers were out all week.

Monday-Wednesday: Subbed for band. The kids were watching a video on the Beach Boys influence. I enjoyed the video, and so did the kids. Would you believe the 2 songs I heard them sing over and over were "Little Honda," and "Barbara Ann?" Barbara Ann doesn't surprise me, but Little Honda, out of everything the Beach Boys sang that song was the kids favorites? No California Girls?

Little Honda

Barbara Ann

Oh, and I heard multiple times how sexy the Beach Boys are. One gal, Sandra, sort of a problem kid, but deep down is a good kid came up to me after 6th period and said, "Mr. Teacher, did you notice how sexy the Beach Boys were, they had short hair?" I failed to realize that... heh heh heh

Wednesday Night: School... lots of observations and tutoring in the coming weeks

Thursday: Roving sub because teachers were being pulled out for special ed IEPs. I was busy nonstop. I found out at the end of 1st period Linda was in a car accident and still not at school, so when I wasn't there was filling in in her classroom. Saw Linda at lunch after she finally got to school, and she was shook up. Principal sent her home. Was asked to sub for her last 2 classes. Linda asked me if I could coach the basketball game after school. Um. Ok? So um, the school bell rang for the end of the day, I opened up the locker room, and then we were on the bus going to the other school for the basketball game. It was our first game, and we lost badly. This ends Linda's 27 game win streak over the past 4 years. Oops. I felt kind of bad, but the players were at such a disadvantage height-wise, plus the other team could shoot. I was able to give some pointers and tell what kids to block what players- that helped- the kids did much better in the 3rd and 4th quarters. I still never want to coach.

Friday: Sub for Linda because she had a doctor's appointment and dentist appointment Her kids were ok.

School: My online class seems like lots of work, but I can manage- just first week stressing.

Allergies: Allergy headaches nonstop all week. Fell asleep most every night with a headache.

I did spend $80 on shirts that were 40% off, plus an additional 15% at Banana Republic Wednesday night. Yay! But it was almost all winter clothes. Ooops. But it was on sale. Also bought a new pair of brown Vans at Nordstrom Rack for $25.

And because I'm on a Beach Boys/summer kick, although it is 60 degrees here in Cali...

Foot fetish buys me shoes

Foot Fetish has been talking about buying me new shoes for the longest time. I tried to stop him, but he did. He had them shipped to my house via amazon, and a gift note that said he was going to find a way to get me shoes. I called him and told him I'll treat him to dinner as a thank you. It'll probably be near his Spring Break since he is so busy with school trying to create an iPhone app and some other random stuff for classes.

Accompanied with pics since I guess it didn't upload right... Thanks Bruce for pointing it out!

Shoes!

We all know I have quite the shoe fetish. The kids we know always talk about what I wear, and today was no exception...

Shoes complemented by beige khaki pants and a sky blue zip polo shirt.

Subbed for the severely handicapped class today and all day the kids were asking, "where did you buy your shoes? "Did you buy them at the Vans store?" "Were they expensive?" "Your shoes match your pants." "Your shoes also match your shirt." "Did you choose what color of fabrics went together?" "Are those carpet?" Also got lots of comments walking out and about. I try to avoid these shoes as they're a bit casual; but they're fun shoes, they matched what I was wearing, and hey, the kids are paying attention... to something...

Remington Steel and a sprained ankle

Lots of ground to cover...

Christmas Eve

Chatted with The Guy on yahoo about 8:30p.m. Christmas Eve. Finally at 9 he says I should come hang out if I could sneak away. I could- my dad was on the phone with an army friend, my mom was crocheting, my sister was doing whatever sisters do. Drove over to his place, brought the ice cream that I was told never to bring because I was in the Christmas spirit. We ate the ice cream and then went to his bedroom to watch Remington Steel. We watched 2 episodes. He fell asleep during the second. I did also. It was 12:30a.m. when I left and I got home at 1:00a.m. It was great to "wake up" from my tired state and wish him Merry Christmas. We said Merry Christmas to each other and he waved goodbye with his now injured foot.

It was kind of hard to pull away from the family on Christmas Eve because afterall it was 9p.m. I told my parents that I was going out with my friends Mike and Steve. I felt like a Remington Steele in a way where little is known about him... my parents know little about me and my whereabouts... it is always lies... haha.

I took The Guy's Christmas gift over with every intention on giving it to him, since he had given me mine the night before. I left it in the car however since it was dark out and I didn't see it.

Christmas Day
Woke up and opened up gifts. This was the first time we have EVER opened up Christmas gifts on Christmas as I said in my previous post. My mom wanted to wait so Christmas wouldn't seem like any other day. At the time on Christmas Eve, we hadn't been invited to my aunt's house. They forgot to invite us.

I get a call at 10:30a.m. as we're about to open up presents and my cousin is apologizing for forgetting to invite us and asking if we are free and interested in coming. We said yes.

My family exchanged gifts. I loved the gifts I picked for everyone. I really love giving gifts and getting everyone something they won't expect. I got a lot of clothes. No Macbook Pro. Soon though!

The best gift I gave yesterday was to my aunt. It was a big hit. It was all 1950s candy- a lot of the candy you can't find anymore. I saw this on Unwrapped on Food Network and knew it was something she'd like. She opened the box, chuckled, then showed her sister, then my cousin K came over and looked and talked about her favorites, how she had seen that on Food Network also, etc. etc. Then my uncle came over and got a kick out of it. Then all of my other cousins were over soon enough checking it out.

It was so great to see all of my dad's sister-in-law's family. I just love them all. We ate and ate- prime rib, cupcakes, ham, cupcakes, mashed potatoes, cupcakes, 7 layer bean dip, and more cupcakes. My cousin K made the most delicious strawberry cupcakes with vanilla chips and vanilla icing on top. I must have had 10 cupcakes. I need to gain weight through according to one of my aunts who said that I looked emaciated. They only see me 3-4 times a year and always tell me I look like I'm growing and that I'm too skinny. I have just been working out.

Played touch football with all of the little kids, my uncle, and 2 of my cousin's husbands. It was my uncle, one of my cousin's husband's and his kid, my sister, and me on one team and everyone else on the other. My team was certainly better, but we didn't score until the last quarter. We scored twice then, making the score 2-2. It was a tie and the game will be continued at Easter. My team would have won if my little cousin wasn't captain and my sister had listened when she was told to run toward the fire hydrant and took off in the other direction and was tackled by a cousin's husband.

Went home and chatted with The Guy. He had a good Christmas with his family, however he was sad that he couldn't walk. We chatted and he said he thought he sprained his ankle while out with his dog. He was running, playing with his dog, tripped over a pine cone and his foot rolled over it.

Post-Christmas Day (thanks JR for that phrasing)
I woke up at 7:30 to the light shining brightly in my bedroom. I was determined to lay in bed, watch TV, and stay under the nice warm blankets. At 8:00a.m. I hear the yahoo messenger instant message sound. I figure The Guy probably just woke up and got on the computer or it was a spam message cuz afterall, he is the only one who would IM me so early in the morning. I had left my computer signed on IM all night because my cousin was sending me all the pictures from Christmas and they hadn't downloaded when I went to bed.

I get about 10 instant messages and figure it IS The Guy and he is bored. I guessed right- it was The Guy and he said he needed help. He couldn't walk and he needed my help. He asks if I'm busy, still sleeping, or what the case was. I said I'm up, just enjoying myself and the nice warm bed, but I'll come over, no big deal.

I get over to his place at 9:15. His kitchen door was locked- I usually just walk in that door. I call him and he doesn't pick up. I yell his name and he doesn't hear since his TV is so loud. I walk around to the living room door and knock. He heard me, his dog barks, and he asks why I walk around. I tell him and apologize for having him get up.

I see his ankle. His ankle had about a 3-4 inch bruise going down it. He lays down on the couch and puts ice on it and elevates it. We watch "Law and Order." He jokes around and tells me he needs me there with him until 5p.m. when Aaron gets off work. I said ok... can do. The Guy calls his mom and tells her that he is going to the doctor at 12. I help The Guy out as much as I can getting him a glass of water or whatever from time to time when he asks.

At 12:00p.m. The Guy goes out to his car and gets in. I am thinking wait, you're injured, you're driving, and we're taking your car? There is a problem. The Guy drove to his doctor's office. When we get in the driveway he asks me to park the car so he can hobble in. I said no problem and seriously was hoping I wouldn't drive his car the rest of the day.

I was thinking how weird it was I had never driven his car... not that I wanted to or anything, because really I didn't- it is HIS car. I have a car and I drive it. I don't need his. I guess it is the whole comfort thing- I feel comfortable driving my car and when you drive someone else's car you always want to be extra cautious etc. His car drives a lot different than mine as far as acceleration and braking, but it was alright- we all made it safely. Guess that shows I'm a good driver. Since I'd never sat in the driver's seat of The Guy's car it surprised me that it is exactly how I would position it. He had the seat up as high as it goes, nearly as far back as it goes, and the steering wheel was just right. That shocked me because I am pretty tall (6'2'') and The Guy is only 5'9''. My parents are his height and I have to scoot their seats back nearly all the way when I drive their cars.

Anyways, I wait in the waiting room playing a game on my cell phone when he comes hopping out. He asks me to bring the car up. I figure ok, I can bring the car up since I did park far away and he doesn't have crutches yet. I bring the car up and he is hopping around going to the passenger seat. He says "off to the hospital" and I ask him the quickest way to get there since there were 3 or 4 ways we could get there. He tells me surface streets. I drive about 5 miles to the hospital. He forgot what street it was on and didn't bother to look at the address on the receipt. I knew it was right off the freeway and wasn't sure of the exit since I don't know the area as well as he does. We spend our time winding through surface streets, but finally make it.

Get to the hospital, am told where to go. I drop The Guy off and go to park. I had to park at the other end of the hospital. I trek back to the x-ray department and tease The Guy about how far he's going to have to walk. He says no, he's not walking because I'm bringing the car. Ok... that was it... I found out I was driving the rest of the day.

We wait and The Guy gets his x-rays. The nurse got The Guy insisted The Guy had a wheelchair and wheeled him into x-rays. I was tempted to snap a shot on my camera phone, but figured that wouldn't be too nice. It might be a good conversation piece, but I'm not that mean. He was done within 30 minutes. While he was waiting though, we sat around and talked about how Kaiser is different than Blue Cross like he has. I hiked to get the car, then came and got The Guy.

I drove to CVS so The Guy could get his Motrin and crutches. We get crutches and drop off his prescription, get drinks, and then go back to his place. The Guy had an argument with the woman in the pharmacy over crutches. He had to pay out of his pocket for them, despite the fact he had a prescription because CVS doesn't bill insurance. He'd have to go to a medical supply place. Lame.

We're both hungry by this time, so I drive in MY CAR to Bakers Square for burgers for us. It was good- the fries were seasoned today. The burger was good. The Guy ordered an appetizer with onion rings and he gave me those since he doesn't like them.

I brought my gift in for The Guy. I had forgot to bring it in earlier. I got him a Chipotle gift card. I had no clue what to get him and knew that he liked Chipotle, so that seemed like a good idea. It was. His face just lit up when I gave it to him and he had the biggest smile on his face. He was surprised I think. What was funny was The Guy was talking afterward that he got Aaron a Chipotle gift card for his Christmas gift and birthday gift. The Guy got me a 90 day subscription to continue playing Everquest... partly because he knows I won't pay for it. haha. He had it wrapped by amazon.com... haha... that's so typical of something he'd do! It really did make my day yesterday to get his gift. I kept it and didn't open it until Christmas and just to have his gift to open really did make my day. He said he felt bad by getting me so little. I told him that wasn't the case and not to worry. He said he'll make it up to me by giving me tons of cool software for my Mac.

After lunch, The Guy was in real need. He had me get him his pills. Then he wanted a Monster Energy Drink with 4 ice cubes in a tall clear glass. He had to make it complicated by demanding only 4 ice cubes. It was funny. I was standing over him as he was laying on the couch when he asked for this. He was asking me how much I hate him right now. He asked "this much?" and held out his thumb and index finger about 5 inches to ask if I hated him that much. I said no, then he went down to about 3 inches. Finally I piped in and said this much. I had my thumb and index finger pressed together to show I didn't hate him at all. How can you hate his adorable face?

We sat around watching TV and he played on his computer until about 5p.m.

At 5p.m. or so he wanted me to help him shower. He was going to have me get in the shower and use me to hold himself up, but he didn't want me to get in because if Aaron walked in then, it would have been awkward. He did have me dry him off with a towel after his shower. While he was showering I talked on the phone to Aaron who is directonally challenged and told him how to get to The Guy's house. Then I picked up and got all the clothes off the floor, so The Guy won't trip with his crutches.

Aaron got there about 5:30 and we sat around chatting. Today was his birthday. He is 20. He tried to tell The Guy and I he was 21, so we needed to get the booze out. We were both skeptical. I remember when I first met him he said he was 20. The Guy said he met Aaron when he was 20 1/2 and he remembered that because Aaron must count or something because he was saying a few weeks back he was 20 3/4. I remembered because he was trying to tell me he was older than me, even though he was 19, but the fact he was born in December made him older than me because I was born in January. Aaron asked when my birthday was and I told him a little less than 2 weeks away and I'd be 21... in 2 weeks we'll be breaking out the booze. The Guy then laughed and asked what he was doing hanging out with two 20 year olds.

We talked about Aaron's birthday, what we got for Christmas, stuff like that, and just hung around watching "Chelsea Lately." Aaron did the dishes for The Guy by putting them in the dishwasher. He likes to wash them by hand because the dishwasher doesn't get everything fully cleaned. The Guy insisted on the dishwasher. I took the trash out and stood around talking with Aaron and The Guy in the kitchen

Finally at 8:00p.m., The Guy was tired and wanted to go to bed. Aaron and I got ready to go. I apparently bothered Aaron by standing around waiting to walk out with him and waiting for him to tie his shoes. He had the same Vans shoes I did, but maybe a size 6 or 7, whereas mine are easily double the size. We all hugged and The Guy thanked both of us for helping him out. I hugged Aaron as we walked out to our cars and wished him Happy Birthday again. I came home and left him a comment on myspace saying happy birthday just to reiterate because he didn't think I said it once I found out. I did. I had said it after The Guy said it.

Dressing rooms?

Well, I think I need to build up suspense before getting to the really juicy part. So we'll start with some random vacation tidbits. It is awkward to go to Sams Club with a group of 6 50+ year old women and buying 30 bottles of margarita mix or beer. You get stares. I feel awkward being with older women and being under 21.

So in shopping news- I bought a pair of Diesel shoes the other day at Opry Mills. I called K to tell him I bought 3 pairs. My favorite pair I bought were some Diesel's though. The only reason I did was they were $59.99 regular $89.99. See pic below:

Bought lots of shirts today at Fossil, GAP, and Banana Republic. Everything was on sale, so there was less guilt involved. Bought the 2 buttondown shirts shown below, blue sweater, beige pullover sweater, shoes.

Now at GAP today I went in to buy my stuff and was over by the jeans. I see a cute German (I later found out) blond guy walking around in a brown polo with a popped collar and blue GAP jeans with a price tag and size label on it. I figured, like another woman he was just trying stuff on. Soon there is a little commotion. I walk over and look, the guy is standing there in the open for all of the peopple in that corner of the store to see leaning over taking the jeans off. He was wearing some Hanes navy blue boxer briefs. He folds the pants up while standing there in his boxer briefs. Then he puts on his pants he was wearing. In the meantime the 2 women with him take off their shirts, strip down to their bras to try on shirts they found. They did this in the open- like maybe they didn't know there were dressing rooms available or know what they were.

Meanwhile, the guy walks over to the underwear and a few minutes later he is back over by the jeans taking them out of the package and putting them on. NO JOKE. He didn't know you're not supposed to try it on. By this time the cashiers had left the register and were trying to tell him. I did however see his nice uncut member. He wasn't hard (which after putting on such a public display I think is kind of hard).

The guy and the girls never understood what was going on I don't think. After this, they put the clothes back and left. The cashiers were like trying to clothe them and touch them and put clothes back on them and pointing. But the guy and the girls didn't speak English.

It was very interesting though. Must admit. Very hot!!! I was seriously thinking when I was there I have my camera and I could probably snap pics of this. It crossed my mind, but then I felt kind of bad knowing that these people didn't know what was going on. It would have definitely been something for the memory book.

Tonight I took one of those Gray Line tours of Nashville. Wen tto the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Ryman Auditorium. Saw lots of Downtown, Vanderbilt University, etc. etc. Went to the Legends Corner bar (yes- I got in with no trouble) and had a coke and listened to some random singer play some songs. He sang one of his own, sang a Toby Keith song (Shoulda Been a Cowboy) and sung it better than Toby. He sounded a lot like Chris Cagle. Then another bar... Tillys I think it was called was another one I hit. It was right in back of the Ryman there on Legends Corner.

This evening my dad's army unit had their own dinner. They're very close and they're the only unit who does this out of all the men here.

Tommorow I may try to hit the Gaylord Opryland Resort and more bars... I've been told you can get into the bars as long as you're 18 and have a wristbannd etc. saying you're not 21. The Jack Daniels Distillery tour is also tommorow. That sounds really neat. I could also go on the homes of country singers tour. We shall see.

Let's get some shoes...

Ok... so I'm having less of a problem lately admitting I have a shoe fetish. I've added some new shoes to my collection and plan to add some more soon. I was talking with I have to admit it last night and after feeling down about a bad day I decided I needed to shop for my dad's gift and get some shoes... shoes make everything better...

Found some really cool shoes that I hope to have in my possession soon. I am really trying to branch out from the typical conservative clothes and shoes I wear as I told I have to admit it. I usually wear the typical California teenage guy deal of skater shoes in black, brown, etc., but am branching out. I've bought a couple pairs of Converse, some really cool brown plaid shoes, and here's what I'm thinking I need...

I really like the red shoes and have never bought a bright color like that because I think "what would I wear with those?" I have to admit it said I could wear black Dickies, white polo, etc. So that's an idea. I don't have much that will match with bright red I discovered in my closet. Track pants and a white t-shirt, track pants and a red shirt, but I'll need a lot more red... heh. But I'm keeping an open mind... maybe... maybe after a shopping trip? Need a little encouragement... heh.

I'm so paranoid about having shoes match the shirts I wear... it is ridiculous. I'll admit, but whatever. It's probably a large reason why I go for the more conservative looking shoes.

I want a pair of white shoes, even though living on a dirt road, having a dirt driveway, living here in the country would be hard to justify and hard to keep them clean, but I've always wanted a pair of white shoes.

Maybe I'm ready for something really wild...

I definitely want the white or brown with the cool plaid border at the bottom. How original is that?! I'm psyched. They're a bit over my usual $60.00 limit on shoes, but for those it would be ok to splurge... haha. Now to debate over white or brown...
