I guess that's the best word for the past 24 hours. I am disappointed, bothered, hurt, not really surprised, but saddened that my mom has taken it this way. Again she seems to be taking the approach nothing is wrong. It is almost uncomfortable because this seems abnormally perfect. I am not sure what is going to happen. Going to be a long weekend- tried to make plans with friends, and most are busy. Not looking forward to it.

She is taking the standard 'if I pretend its not there, it can't bother me' stance. She just needs time to deal with the info. Literally this is something that will take months for her to totally accept. In the meantime, just try to have a little patience while still being who you are. Things will improve.

It sounds like the commenter above has hit the nail right on the head. Be patient, and try not to let it bother you too much.

Get out and about! I'm sure getting away just for the day will help you clear your head and give you space. Might wanna "force" one of those friends to come out and play :)

You could come up and see me! ^_^

And, just give it some time man. That's the only (and probably best) advice I can give. Just give it will be weird for a while.

I'm going through something similar so I understand the frustration. I've just come out to most of my family and they are angry with me for being "selfish" by making them upset. Apparently it's all about them and if I disturb their comfort zones then it's my fault. So FWIW, I sympathize.
